Hit a deer on my commute about a week ago, ended up with around $12k worth of damage, mostly bumper, quarter panel, air dam, and all things plastic. I'm not inclined to put factory plastic back on because future deer strikes are likely (this is the 3rd one I've tapped in 23 years driving that highway). My problem tho, is the emblem sensor and the forward facing camera making aftermarket replacements problematic as I don't believe you can have a cross member in front of that emblem or it will disable the dynamic cruise control and/or block that camera. Has anyone on here dealt with this, or can anyone recommend something like FabFour's bumper (places steel right up under the headlights for near-complete coverage)? Any help is appreciated.

Nice! I'm in the same predicament. Lady hit my car while parked. I went with the lil b bumper. Bottom is a picture of it on another tacoma. It'll be here in 4 weeks.

Does your new bumper abuse any interference with the front sensor?

were new front springs necessary for the added weight?, heard if its not more than 150 lbs or around there, then no need to install beefier springs up front...

Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Not a big loss for me anyway since I left it disabled most of the time anyway because I didn't like the way it operated the cruise control. That, and it did absolutely nothing for avoiding the deer that took the front end off (it was actually turned on when I hit the deer, and didn't sense the critter).

No, I could be wrong but I don't think the new bumper weighs that much. I'd have to look up the specs on FabFour's (Avenger series) website.

Well THAT sucks. I looked at those too and opted for the FabFours model that could protect more of the grille if/when I hit another deer. Tradeoff is losing "reliable" use of the DCC in the emblem, not a big deal for me.
