Tundra rotors and calipers are a upgrade for 1st gen Tacos. Factory Toyota parts upgrade for 2nd gens is 4Runner rotors and calipers. If your truck is not equipped with ATRAC you can upgrade the booster and master cylinder to Tundra parts and the improvement is massive.

Want to do this. Did you buy it as a kit or did you put something together?

I bought a kit off of Amazon. I had to shorten the lights on both sides and reseal the Ends with clear RTV. I then bought the switch separately as the one that came with the kit was just a cheap POS that really can't be mounted anywhere. But over all it was pretty simple to install and hook up.

Nice! I have the same setup and it works great!
The only thing is, the switch will freeze up a little in the winter. I just have to warm it up with my hand for it to work.

Lol I did mirror the image just to get a better view of the before and I didn’t even notice the rear mud flaps! I’ll mess with that ASAP. Appreciate the compliment!

I bought my truck so I could carry a shit-ton of stuff, go anywhere I want off road and I picked the Tacoma because it will literally last forever.

Do you have the light on the switch wired to be on all the time or just with the button and LED lights on? Have you run into any issues with battery drainage?

I have it so the button LED is only on when the light strips are on.
I didn't want to take any chances or have anyone mess with that button if it was always illuminated since I don't have a bed cover.

That makes sense mine is mostly covered I will have to keep that in mind when I have my bed cover rolled up.

Didn't do anything but spent a ton on the truck for future to do's. Ordered my lift and since I came in under budget I ordered a skid set as well :spending:

    JBA High Caster UCA's
    RCD 5100's fronts
    OME 887 springs
    Bilstein B110's rears
    Icon RXT rear leaf packs
    Extended stainless brake lines
    Carrier bearing drop kit
    1/4" Top plate spacer

And since I was under budget I ordered a Coastal Offroad skid plate set that I will be welding up myself when it gets warmer probably... or whenever I get the itch to do it in my cold garage.
Previously ordered the ECGS bearing, sway bar relocation kit, and cab mount chop plates that are sitting on the shelf. Come spring I will be ready to move up to aftermarket wheels and 33's.

:annoyed:prepping the truck for upcoming suspension upgrades I was checking frame like I do every year because of the frame recall and found this... lost truck for possibly 2 months while they wait for answer from Toyota and for frame to come in. Hopefully I'm going to get frame replaced, hopefully.... so far Toyota has screwed me on every recall or TSB leaving me to fix it but this time they screw me my brakes just might fail as i return the truck to Toyota

    None... yet.
Got out in the snow for the first time since buying mine! When I first got it, I was not impressed with the tires (Travelstar Ecopaths) and was figuring I'd need to replace them in short order. After doing some mild off-roading and hitting the very slick roads today, I revised my opinion to "impressed"!

Made the appointment for next Tuesday (the 22nd) to get the ring and pinion changed on my PreRunner. It's going from stock 3.73 to 5.29. Hopefully it gets done by Wednesday 5:00 because that shop is closed Thursday the 24th to January 4th, all though I could use a vacation/staycation...

Replaced the console cover latch. I had heard they don't sell them ala-carte anymore but I was able to get one on eBay from Manhattan Beach Toyota that is OEM. 7 screws and 15 minutes and I no longer have to chase the latch and spring if I let them get loose (I had glued the spring to the latch to make it a bit easier if I did let it get loose). But now, that's an issue of the past.

I just took one of the originals into the hardware store, matched the thread (8x1.25) and picked one little shorter than the original. 12 of them. Less than $10 total for bolts and washers, had read in the forum that OEM plastic plugs are about $30 so figured this was a better option.
