Yup, I learned this one with my first machine and will not make that mistake again. Startron and 93 octane. I work off a single 5 gallon only b/c I just have the mowers and snowblower for small engine items.

Same here, I wouldn't touch it now just in case haha. My personal experience is much easier to do that kind of work after the season unless it is clearly in need presently. I did plugs and fuel filter on my tractor last fall..really needs an oil change but I'll do that in the spring

BINGO, stewarts a few times a week to fill gas and diesel.

Had my DR power brush cutter in the shop 6 months, the guy fucking put shit gas in it and now it starts hard and needs to be fogged. Blammed the gas and I asked him if he put shit in there because nothing besides 91 pure had ever been in it. The look he gave me let me know he did, now my machine starts like shit.

Ordered some of this star-tron people are talking about to hopefully get it back to normal. Never had issues with anything I own by using real gas. Any other gas should be illegal its fucking retarded and I hate the government.

I haven't changed a spark plug on anything I've owned in 20 years. That includes my 2nd gen Tacoma I had for 230k miles. Maybe I've been lucky.

Morning all. Looks like I might at least see a little snow out of this storm after all. Not much, but at least it'll be a consolation prize for everybody South of the Memorial Bridge being in full 'panic mode' at work this week.

Well no wonder your transmission picked up all of those extra neutrals, then.

    ‘Morning folks,

Don’t tell me it’s gonna be one of THOSE winters .

There’s been way too many where there’s nothing up North but mid-State and further south get all of it.

Lies. I don't want the cold. If snow was warm - if it was something that happened at 80 degrees I'd love it. If it's going to be cold as balls, at least have something to show for it!

I must have a leak. I don't have to change it, I just have to keep adding more :(

    Did maths for new tires.

Long of the short, stock is the cheapest. Even though they don't last as long, the stock wranglers have a better MPG enough to offset it. But the stocks suck ass. So, the big comparison I wanted to do was KO2 10 ply vs Wildpeak 6 ply - the 10 lasts longer, but is heavier on MPG, so do those offset?

    upload_2020-12-16_10-41-39.jpg

For 60K miles, the cost difference is about $150 bucks more for KO2s than Wildpeaks.

6 wheels: I plan long term to have 6 wheels. 4 on the truck, one spare, one in the garage spare. At each rotation the 2 spares will go on the front, front to the back, and then the back come off. Because I'm insane. If you did 5 wheels instead of 6, it's like $10 different numbers.

.... I don't overthink things at all, me? no, never.

Add a correction for smiles/mile and/or coolness factor and the stock will get disqualified.

I had K02s on my FJ before I put MT's on it, and i've got the wildpeaks (E-rated) on my LC. I think the wildpeaks are better performing in the winter. Honestly the 6-ply wildpeaks are probably more than adequate for any offroading in a stockish truck, and they're going to ride nicer than the KO2's. Just my $0.01. I'd buy the wildpeaks over the KO2's I think. Both have been great offroad, but i'll take shorter life for better winter/ wet grip of the wildpeaks. Lasting 75k miles is good for the wallet, but near the end they get really hard and winter/ wet traction is going to suffer.

FWIW i've got 40k on my Falkens and they probably have ~50% tread left, though i haven't measured depth in a while. That being said, now is a perfect time to pull them off and sell them to offset the cost of new tires, likely MT's for daily drivability obviously. That's what I did on my FJ after putting ~45K on my KO2's. And IIRC i sold them for ~$350.

At this point I think it's flip a coin. Whichever I get this time, I'll get the other one next time. I'm thinking a 6-ply this time, 10-ply skinny next time. Might go skinny this time. TBD. Still have another year or so, 20k ish miles on mine, they'll probably last through next winter, but if it's close in Nov/Dec I'll get new ones for the winter and not risk it.

To be fair....I didn't go on the sucker pond trip, but my stock wheels have kept up with everyone I've gone out with. I also have to recognize what I want the truck to do. I don't want to send the truck down trails that the stock tires can't handle, for example. I've already eaten a rocker doing dumb shit, so clearly the stock tires, in my history, are capable enough for what I want to be able to do with a daily driver.

.... I will not be getting them again, to be clear, BUT they're good enough for me I guess is what I'm getting at.

100%. With this logic MTs > all.
