2.5-3 in lift w/265's. What do i need?

should be getting my tacoma in a couple of weeks now and looking do lift it. First question is

-looking at the pro comp 7032 17in wheels. what would be the best offset and backspacing for 265-75 tires?

-General grabber AT2's. Best on/off road tire?

-was reading a bit on lifts and vibration problems. I like the 5100's for the front but if i put them in the back, does it level it out if i set it at 1.75 or do i need something else for the leaf's?

-How hard is the install for this? I have lots of tools and experience with working on dirtbikes.

 

You'll need an add a leaf for the back. The 5100's don't lift the back at all.

Maybe a 1.5 inch AAL in the back with yur 5100's up front set at 1.75...

If the 5100's dont lift the back, would it be a better idea to just to do the AAL in the back and upgrade later to a better shock later on?

 

5100 set at 2.5 in the front. with 1.5 aal in the rear. and yea you can always add new shocks in the back when you see fit. Good luck with getting a taco.

 

I know nothing about the General Grabber AT2, however the best on/offroad tire I am aware of, is the BFG All Terrain T/A. It is supposed to last forever. I see them several times daily, when driving in the Salt Lake City area of Utah.

I had the grabber at2s on my 2006. I really liked the tire. But I decided to try the wrangler duratracs with my 2010 and lovin them so far as well.

 

just out of curiosity, why a 265 and not a 285?

 

285's will rub like mad onthe fender and the frame.

 

Not with proper backspacing (4.5") and a little trimming. 285's with a 3" lift is a very popular combo on here.

 

I RUN 265/75/16 with 5100's set a 1.75. I also have the rear Tsb. As long as I didnt haul any weight the truck set real level but put 200 lbs in the back and it raked back bad. I oredered the toytec add leaf for the rear tsb truck sets a little higher in the rear know but looks good with a load in it. I am always hauling something . I left the stock shocks on the back until last week just put a new set of billeys on the back and cant beleive the diffrence in ride shoud have don it when I put the fronts on.

 

Agreed, mine came from factory with 265's. I added 2.5 level and tsb rear springs and 285's fit perfect,no rub with 16x7 steelies.
