I have a new set of stealth series Ray 10 wheels with 8-spline lug nuts. Today I was doing some suspension work that required the rear wheels off. Using a hand-breaker bar and socket with the stealth 8 spline socket, I was loosening the lugs. The last lug of six was tight. Super tight. As I cranked on it I actually ripped the spline socket wide apart. Because I was powering into that turn, the lug nut itself got quite rounded when the socket ripped open and around it. I am waiting on a new socket And lug to be shipped to me. Any suggestions on getting this one super stuck lug off? I don’t want to rip another socket apart on it.

    Hit it with some penetrant.
Try beating a smaller 12 point socket on.
I've seen some use a larger six point with a piece of steel wire on a spline or two; gives the six point something to bite onto.
This was for lack of key, though.
Maybe put the other lugs back on to relieve the superstuck one.

Hammer on an impact socket same size or 1 mm smaller and crank off with breaker. They also sell bolt extractor sockets that have a reverse thread inside that bite in.

Thank you both for the suggestions. The Stealth 8 point lugs seems to be one of a kind for perfect fitment. I don’t have much choice for now but to wait until the new socket arrives. I also got some spare lugs and a backup socket. This will give me a few days to let some penetrating oil soak in too. Fingers crossed that a new socket will get it spinning. Thanks again.

Update- received the new lock socket And replacement lug today. I shot the frozen lug with WD-40 about four days ago and let that soak. I thought I might have some issues getting the frozen lug off but with some steady force and a cross-X-type lug wrench it came right off. New lug is on a all set! The dealer mentioned to NEVER use a impact wrench on these lugs... and make sure the dealer / mechanic knows too when rotating tires etc.

heat it up with oxy acetylene torch that will loosen it. Don't use propane . It won't get hot enough.

I got it off w a new lock socket, an X lug wrench and a 3-day WD-40 soak. My wheels are brand new and painted so I’m not sure if I would take a torch to the lugs unless it was a last stand.
