Valuable information thank you. I got a call from the Service manager the Toyota dealership today and he said that Toyota just issued a band new service/tech order to correct the the vibration problem. It will involve new leaf springs, and harmonic balancers on the steering wheel and I believe the drive shaft. I asked him to email the tech order, and when I receive it, I will post it on the form.

Seems some trucks exhibit harmonic vibrations. Many have no issues. Same issue with diff whine, it's not the diff, just harmonic oscillations fooling everyone. They are trying to change the dampening factor in the equation on your specific truck.

The Service Manager at my Toyota dealership just emailed me a new Tech Service Bulletin dated 12/15/2020, that applies to 2016-2021 4x4 Tacoma with automatic transmissions. It is for "Driveline Vibration Under Deceleration Around 30 - 10 mph". It involves installing a harmonic balancer for the steering wheel; installing a new part numbered leaf springs; and measurement of the driveshaft angles. This is exactly condition I am have with my 2021 RS 4x4! He will call me when the parts come to perform the TSB and we will see then if its a real fix!

When my truck was under 1500 miles it had a slight vibration when braking to a stop on a hill. Put the truck in neutral and brake...no vibration detected. As the mileage doubled the problem went completely away. Had to believe it was a torque converter issue, as a buddy thought the same issue with his 2019 trd or. Said it seems to be normal for these auto transmissions.

99% chance he’s right. This was the cause of vibration with my 2019. Good luck convincing the dealership though. It’ll be less headache to measure the angles yourself and shim as needed. OP: Do a little test. Put a few bags of sakrete in the bed and go for a drive. I’d bet money the vibrations go away. The weight puts the driveline angles closer to where they should be.

On many of the other vibration threads , guys are keeping thier gas tanks filled to the top . They say just keeping the tank full seems to help the vibes .

Maybe explains why i have none with the tonneau cover on the bed. Truck was a smudge high in the rear when first owned, now after 5k miles it sits perfectly level.

Luck of the draw? I was actually surprised how smooth my 2020 4x4 SR was when I first got it. I didn't expect it to ride like a Cadillac, but thought it was pretty cushy for a 'truck'.. Nothing harsh or any funny vibrations whatsoever. Even my MIL (Who drive's a friggin' Buick) thought it drove very smooth..

You should of drove a gen1 tundra. It felt like a plush luxury vehicle compared to my 2020 taco.
On another note, i'm stoked how this tacoma goes in deep snow ever with the same goodyear a/t tires that came off the tundra. It just keeps pulling forward even with snow packed up under the chassis. My tundra would of got hung up and start spinning its tires.
