I’ve been known to listen to classical music in my truck from time to time, but I mostly meant classic rock...

“My, my, my, I’m once bitten, twice shy!”

Yes, classic rock. Several tunes on the radio absolutely require maxing the volume. AC/DC, Queen, Aerosmith, ZZTop, ....... among countless others

That crap from the era of the BeeGees makes me want to hurl. :puke:

Can relate. My cousin is a police officer in CA and pulled someone over going 15 over the limit who ran a stop sign. The vehicle had heavy tint all around, not sure if legal off my head. As he is about at the rear bumper of the car, the window rolls down and the driver yells "YOU ONLY STOPPED ME BECAUSE I'M BLACK!!!"

This was at night and the vehicle went by him in such a way that my cousin couldn't see in the windows (which were up), which he told the driver and that even with the car stopped and his patrol lights on he couldn't tell how many people were in the vehicle much less anything else.

Never will I again listen to them after the Station nightclub fire. Plenty of blame to go around there but I think the band got off easy

It takes A LOT for me to hold a big enough grudge against a band or individual musician that I will not listen to them anymore; If that “A LOT” ever happens, I will tell you what it is...

Not that I was ever a big fan of Justin Bieber to begin with, but I think he’s enough of a douche that I will change the station if anything other than this one Christmas song by him comes on!

Not sure if you remember that but about 100 or so people died in that fire and they were just as culpable as the club.

Oh yes; I think it's awful, but "Once Bitten Twice Shy" has been my jam for eight years and will continue to be my jam!

If you think you are going to convince me to stop listening to a song that has been my favorite song for more than eight years, you are fighting a losing battle. Nobody has ever given a crap that this is my favorite song, and quite frankly I think that lead singer Jack Russell is a bit of a troubled soul to say the least, but I love this song! What's the problem?

And since this is "driving pet peeves"...

I can't stand dubstep music and question the intelligence of people who do; I let a friend play dubstep in my truck one time and he damn near blew my speakers!

I went to one "dubstep" show..Korn on the Path of Totality. Wasn't bad, not something I'd go see again but it was pretty cool to see the DJs.

Several years ago I had a ticket to see Marilyn Manson in Boston, he fell and broke his leg 3 days prior. Rescheduled a few shows and I kept my ticket..the opener was a lady named DJ Amazonica and she rocked. Any DJ who uses Rage Against the Machine is cool with me.

Now blowing up your speakers...ooh yeah I wouldn't have stood for that one

Like I always say, I bought and built the system so what I play goes.

I'll take it easy on the extreme stuff or blasting it if my wife is with me though..

I've got a '70 VW bus. I'm not normally a fan of turn signals that use the same bulb as the brake light, but it is handy to be able to reach over and flip the hazard switch for one blink if someone is too close. Looks exactly like I'm tapping the brakes without actually having to.

Have you ever heard of root cause analysis? What is the earliest action that lead to the near miss?

From your description it was tailgating. Of course that was only the earliest physical action. The incident started with lack of attention to your driving because you were late.

None of this was the other driver’s fault.

My driving pet peeve? As you are merging onto the highway and there is a slow vehicle in front of you, some jagoff who is behind crosses the solid white line and jumps into the passing lane just as you reach the divided white line and intend to do the same thing, therefore cutting you off.

This has thankfully never happened to me, but I’ve seen dashcam footage...

When you’re making a left turn into your driveway and some impatient twatwaffle passes you ON THE LEFT! Someone in Doylestown, the county seat of my home county, posted their dashcam footage; Some asshole in a small SUV managed to wedge their vehicle through, almost causing a sideswipe accident!

I lied; Something sorta like this happened to me not long after I got my license; I’m pretty sure it was in 2011, the year I got my license...

I was living in Furlong at the time, waiting to make a left turn from Edison-Furlong Road onto Pebble Hill Road. This intersection was “NO TURN ON RED”, so I was waiting. There was a shoulder on the side of the road, but people only used this to make a right turn if someone was in the main lane waiting to make a left and couldn’t due to opposing traffic...

I had my turn signal on; I had the radio on, and it was a warm day so I had the windows up and the A/C on. As a result, I couldn’t really hear anything...

The light turned green, and I started to turn; Out of nowhere, a lifted black GMC Sierra came out of nowhere on my right side, using the aforementioned shoulder to make a right turn even though I clearly had my signal on. He was inches away from destroying the front right corner of my truck, which wasn’t even two years old at the time, and probably had barely 15,000 miles. People on TW know how angry I got at a drunk 70-year old man for hitting my truck in 2015, and how close I came to kicking his ass; If this prick had totaled my practically new Tacoma that wasn’t even paid off yet, there’s no telling what I would have done...

I gave the guy in the GMC an angry beep, but he had been going so fast that he was out of sight before I round the corner; I actually wondered if I had been in the wrong lane for making a turn, but after explaining the situation to my mom and telling her exactly what intersection I’d been at, she assured me that I’d been in the right lane and the guy in the other truck would have been at fault if he’d hit me.

After that incident, I was always went out of my way to fully block the shoulder when making a right turn from that exact location!

Here’s a big one; People driving stick shift vehicles who purposely go back and fourth between 1st and Reverse on even the slightest incline. This makes me incredibly nervous because some numnuts in a stick shift Jetta let his car roll onto my truck on a largely level surface while we were waiting at a red light. He drove off, but there was no damage and the tap was so light that I have reason to believe he didn’t realize he’d hit me...

Needless to say, it irritates me when people with a stick shift get bored at a stoplight and decide to “play” with the clutch and gearshift; I’ve made at least two of these idiots almost shit their pants by blasting the horn to get them to knock it off! Seriously, would you rather I scare the shit out of you with a horn blast, or would you rather roll into my truck and be on the hook for almost $450 to replace my front bumper?

I never ride side by side with anyone. I either pass em or let em go. Too many people don't check their blind spot.
