15k would be a good buy. I don’t get it this is no different than person thinking a 2021 trd pro is worth 50k+, It’s a tacoma with some nice accessories on it. People buy what they want who cares it’s his money. They are getting harder to find I paid 13-14k for my 04 with 105k miles. People ask me every week to buy it.

Anyone that thinks this is a terrible deal and steering you away should really be able to find you the same truck or better with less miles, in better shape, for way less cash and send you some links to compare! I have only seen one black limited double cab 4x4 ever, this one.

I dont think most people even realize what they are looking at here and why the dealer wants so much for this particular unique example...

Is there any way to look up how many were built like this by chance?

Sunroof and limited seats are the only special things about the Limited package that would add any real value, that I can think of.

The seats particularly, I wouldn't want a sunroof personally. Not for a camping/wheeling rig like how I use mine. But you get lumbar support with the limited seats which would be nice

Still, I hardly think that makes it a $22,000 167k mile truck lol

    That’s absurd

You asked for opinions and have gotten them.

That asking price is DOUBLE KBB. They are hoping the right person comes along with a big enough hard on and fat enough wallet to pay a premium price. That buyer is unique to an extent like the truck is - the price will drop if and when that person does not show up. But maybe you are that person?

There’s really only one reason to pay that price for that truck and that’s if there are specific features about it that you want bad enough to over pay for necessarily such as color/options and whatnot that in concert will be difficult to find elsewhere

in other words is it your dream truck?

    Only you can answer that

there will be other double cab 4x4’s but maybe not black ones, maybe black but not limited trim etc.

    ******

not getting ripped off for one of these is a patient man’s game. But if it is your dream truck then maybe it’s worth it to you specifically and if so and you can afford it to hell with the rest of the opinions ITT and elsewhere and I say congrats in advance.

I would certainly pay a premium for this truck... but as many have pointed out it’s like a premium plus some... plus I would need to ship it to SoCal...

It's crazy expensive but right now all the 1st gens I've seen are junk (literally two had rolled back odos)

Yes you can get a budget 2nd gen but a clean 1st gen is "classic" status in my book.

I owned a 02 Xtra cab trd 4x4 taco with 50k for 12k years ago...crazy to think if I kept it and added another 100k I could possibly sell it for a profit

Also I think 1st gens are the best built generation, not knocking the other ones. Even after 16 years my 04 I sold was still quiet solid, no rattles or squeaks. The 1st gen invented the saying, they don't make them like they used to

This may be a fun info hunt for the "worldy"...

How many 1st gen Limited's can we all find for sale in the country at the moment?!

And what is truly is the rarest of all first gen's.. SRunner, Limited, or?!!

Rare vintage machine in the making or just an old truck, or is it both?!!!

Offer what ever your heart says it is worth to you my friend, both time and money wise, and let the Tacoma Gods sort the rest out for you!

I like this dealer "Investment Cars".. obviously these guys know rare Tacoma 4x4's increase in value over time!

You can see prices will drop by thousands when they dont hook someone right away.. soon as the next price drop call them up with a real offer (~$17).

If you want the Tacoma that most folks never get to see in their lifetime you will likely need to pay the price of admission or get real lucky!

The birth certificate of that Black Beauty:

    upload_2020-12-17_8-30-35.jpg

If you truly want a Limited dc 4x4, this may be worth a trip to go look at two at the same time! That silver one looks pretty clean too for $16.. but you have to see these in person to be sure of the condition and also show the dealer you are ready to scoop up that truck on the spot with cash in hand.

So op, what are YOU thinking about this truck you inquired us all about?

Just dreaming? or planning to live your dreams?!

    Want a Limited or just a 4x4?
