Ah I think yours is a regular bed not short bed so that would work at least for some of them. @frenchee

 

Yes, the 5-lug has the same bed as the 6-lug. The flares are different/non-existant on the 5-lug though.

 

Short bed is just shorter. 1st gen beds are rectangular and not tapered at the rear like 2nd/3rd gens.

Makes sense but after some design redos need to make sure. Blanketing is just guessing at this point. 3rd gen LB, 2nd gen SB and 1st gen all had design changes needed

 

Regular cab and Xtracab USUALLY matter with fiberglass shells, but since the front wall of the X-1 is vertical, it will work on both cabs.
The regular cab is vertical while the rear of the Xtracab cab leans forward slightly, so when people try to put a fiberglass shell from an Xtracab on a Regular cab, it bangs against the top of the truck cab...

 

Yes, if they are going to continue designing the X-1 to fit very specific vehicles, then they should get a 6' and 5'1" 1st gen bed in their shop to work with.

 

I've done a lot of reading since I signed up here on TW - 5 days before buying my 1st gen. FSM, brochures, TW and other forums.

 

Yeah yeah let’s not take any chances here. I’m the guy on the list let’s do a short bed first

 

I think on our list we have 2-3 1st gens so need to right for you guys.

Just call them. Probably April at the earliest of you had a 3rd gen, but it would depend a lot on your truck.

 

At this point you should take them your truck and leave it. You have a sick scooter to smash while you wait. We can caravan.... I’m leaving Sunday! I’ll even bring you back. But we’re stopping in Bend to pick up a load of beers.

Actually that woulda been a great idea just drop the truck off there. Haha I have the moped and another car for rainy days
It still has the shell and tent, and I’m gone until Monday though .
