    After reading a good bit,
That's exactly what I was thinking they would be but never bothered to look into it, sounds like a great little gadget though. Do they make some for the front suspension too?

This is an example of what i don't understand. Ok you use your truck for hard core truck / off road things. Freak-en awesome. Not being sarcastic here.

Where i am in my life i don't / cant do that. I DONT have huge noisy tires, I DONT have 5.29 gears. I DID PAY $35,000 for a brand new truck. I do not want to have to deal with Gear noise that does not need to exist with modern manufacturing standards. I dont care if the truck is not being damaged, i paid 35k and want hear silence and a proper drive train for 35k. Dont see how its ok and normalized. This is a Toyota failure that every other truck / live axel car or truck does not have. Hell My 91 240sx drive shaft is 2 pieces and from a frontier dropped onto a car. It makes 0 noise.

if i wanted a car that will be crap id buy a jeep...rollers going bad early on pentistar motor, or heavy (wheel and axel fell off).

the problem is the tacoma is over all a good truck, we all buy them and they sell 5x more then the others. As it does not damage the truck and honestly from pure numbers likly does not effect a big percentage of trucks, they dont bother to fix it.

$35K is not even average in 2020 for a truck.
I agree, Toyota has an issue with a gear whine in the rear diff on some trucks. You have a choice... keep it or sell it.

One day I wish to wake up and say "today I am going to try to pull a tree down with the e-brake on in 4wd-low and second gear" and then I will go to the dealer and ask them to fix whatever breaks.

I believe Toyota uses the same differential on the Hilux and Landcruiser Prado, which see regular use in war zones all over the world.

it’s going to take more than that to break it

Actually for a low mileage truck, very clean differential fluid is a red flag. Even new properly set up vehicles will have some amount of metal wear as they break in. Fluid that is clear means it was changed before you took a sample. Common practice for those that don't want you to know there is an issue. My 2018 has 31k on it, has only seen DD use, and I would bet my next paycheck that a sample of the fluid would show metal flakes to at least a limited extent. It would certainly not look like brand new fluid. I've changed plenty of gear oil in gear boxes and differentials.

Just an observation. I didn't follow where you are at with the truck, but good luck with whatever path you're taking.

lol everyones in here talking like I did any of this on purpose, I paid less for that truck than most people pay for their 12-15's, no one wanted it, It's from a fuckin government auction block, it's bright red, it came with that dumbass Westin bull bar on it, the ugliest chrome trim youve saw, and a damned 2.5 inch spacer lift or whatever the hell fell out of the top of the shock tower when I took it off. It's a work truck it get's used for work around my property and my family's, don't know what else to say. Not an uncommon situation... city folks really are something else these days.

    THANK YOU
This is a very solid point, perhaps I exaggerated a little, It did have a little discoloration and a little bit of gunk on the check plug, it was not brand new. But solid observation based on what I likely said. Not very good at this whole communicating electronically thing yet but I'm trying to get the hang of it.

Also, It's not like I uprooted it. She felled over it was just hung up in another treetop, and needed a quick hard yank out, but overall much less force was involved than I have seen in 100's of recoveries.

Just buy directly off the Cartel next time . Try to talk to the driver and ask him how he drove it and what maintenance he did in the bush .

Ya I'm not sure it really ever saw too much abuse somehow, they seize cars all the time bought with dirty money, who knows could have been the daily of someone's girlfriend. When I got it I found a little bit of sand that he never got off the undercarriage but they also didn't put much effort into cleaning it up, I think they really thought it would never sell except to someone who knows what it is and is looking for that and to knock a little bit off.

Who tied the tree to the truck, put in in 4wd low and 2nd gear? Was that not on purpose? People complained about accidentally putting their trucks to 4wd high while trying to adjust A/C, so I am going to let 4wd low part slide. But never heard a tree accidentally getting tied up to a truck.
