Nice. My bonus would have paid for my trip to Colorado. I think it all may have worked out for the best though. I talked to my buddy and Moab is on the table for Septish. No way I could have afforded to make both trips. At least this way, I can save a bit more to make the Sept trip.

My insurance is what keeps me here. I could go make more money, but then wouldn't get my diabetes supplies for free. I go through a couple thousand dollars worth a month, so for me......I can't really complain. Now if I were healthy and didn't need insurance every month...………..I'd be gone

Yeah. My insulin is $1100 a month, pump supplies are $1800 a month, and test strips are about $300 a month. I pay just $15 a month for the insulin only, the other stuff is free.
So even if I had to pay 20% of that.....that's a pretty good chunk of change. Plus, I don't ever get into my $500 deductible.

No shit. Even for people with insurance that pays 80% after the deductible...….it's expensive. The sad thing is, the guys that invented insulin sold the patent for $1 b/c they wanted it accessible to people. That's one area in life where I lean a different way. Stuff that people can't survive without should be affordable......not saying free :D

Another tidbit of info. My insulin hasn't changed in the 30yrs I've been on it. They just keep changing the way they mix it so they can keep the patent. When I was first put on it, it was $25 a bottle before insurance paid anything. It's now $275 a bottle for the same formula. Even with inflation, it should only be $40 a bottle in 2020.
