Cleared off the front. I have an idea for my engine cage that I haven’t seen anyone else do as to how it attaches to the truck frame and cab cage. It’s a lot more work to get done. But I’ll be able to open up the front like it is in the pictures if I ever have to work or pull the motor. Not going to say how I’m going to do it yet. Just in case it doesn’t work out. We’ll see......

Tub job looks great! Interesting technique with using the 2x4 strapped to the tire. Haven't seen that approach before

Thanks bud, the other day I started going through this build and realized how much work has been put into this truck. I’ve done a lot and still a lot more to do.

Had to cut off the tube from the muffler because the connectors where identical so they wouldn’t slide onto each other. I also had to make the connectors I had shorter. Then I had to add an extra sleeve to the original exhaust tube because the tube was a wired size. But after everything. It all came out good. Thinking about adding a flange on the lower end so I can disconnect the upper section. Just in case the smog guys give me shit about the location. Then add a straight tube out to the back for smog. I still need to cut a fish mouth and add hangers with rubber mounts.

I’d be cautious about running the exhaust up along the shock body like that. Recently saw a 1400 truck redo his exhaust during shock tuning due to a similar setup causing excessive heat in the shocks. Exiting near the shocks seems to be common and fine, but running up along the shock may cause too much heat.

I like the exhaust! But do agree if you can move it a touch further towards the back the better. Wrap will help.

Yeah wrap will help. And I’m also referring to a race truck vs play truck. Worst case it gets rerouted later which is the least of your worries with getting this thing finished up

I'll make adjustments. I'll see if I can move it away a little more and see if I can squeeze some kind of heat shield in between. Not completely done but at least the route works for the most part. I'm going to add some kind of cover for when it snows and I ordered some flanges to be able to disconnect the upper tube and attach an straight to the rear for smog.

Id just wrap it and maybe even do a heat shield. The squirrels working up front wont make a huge amount of heat I don't think. I need to figure out my dumb exhaust so this is good to see
