Great pictures! It really shows the difference the CMC makes!

While this is an old thread, if it's helpful for anyone, it's my understanding that if you have SPC upper control arms, a lift between 2.5" and 3", TRD Pro 4Runner wheels (reference point for backspacing size etc) and a 33" tire aligned in the wheel well correctly, it should fit.

I have yet to find someone running that specifically that has also mentioned one way or the other, a cab mount chop.

As someone who plans on running 33s down the road, I'd like to think I can avoid a CMC but I guess I'll see when I get there.

Also I'd be curious to see a comparison between those that fit 33's, and those that don't, measurements of the wheel well to see if the alignment is different or if the frame/body is different.

Not sure if I need a CMC but what do you all think. Even if I stuff, the tire seems to be at its max distance to the CM as shown in the pick. I need to go out and flex it a bit.

    - update : airing down may be an issue. Will cause the overall width to grow.
$400 quote for a CMC - seems the highest I’ve seen so far.

    Yep,
    17 x 8.5 : zero offset
    285/70r17 Yokohama Geolandar MT
    SPC upper control arms

Wheeled pretty hard for 2 days and got pretty stuffed.
Light rub on plastic when I punched it around a corner with an incline on the other side, already taken care of with small dremel.

Other than that, if I dont punch it I dont rub.
    No CMC!!

    Nice

285/75/17 on method 17x8.5, -4.75, 0 offset. Minor rubbing when stuffed and articulated, will need to do some heat molding. No CMC.

I did have to re-mold some of the fender plastic using a heat gun though. It would only rub when I was at half lock and going over a bump though, after re-molding, no rubs.

I am running a 2" lift, 285/75R16, no CMC, no issues on body rubbing at any point. I've been on plenty of trails flexing hard and not had issues. It does, however, rub on the UCA when in reverse at ~80% turning.

I'm about to do 285/75r16 on my stock 2020 TRD Pro. Wonder if I'll have the same issue. What would prevent rubbing on the UCA in this situation? Seems like every truck is different, but hoping maybe if this is the only issue I come into contact with (pun intended) there's an easy fix.

Offset wheels will help with rubbing on UCA, but will introduce rubbing in new spots. Unless you go in reverse to full lock a lot you can work around that issue.

I have no rubbing with Bilstein 6112 upfront and 5160s in the rear with SPC UCAs. Running 285/75/R16 Falken Wildpeaks on the stock rims on my 2021 TRD Off Road

I didn’t want to get new wheels until I destroyed the factory ones. So this setup actually works out perfectly for my Overland Needs.

Are you using wheel spacers? If so, what size are they?

Rig looks great! That's actually the look I want for my truck! Do you think it would've rubbed without changing out the UCA's? I'm doing a 3"/2" leveling kit with TRD rims and 285/70/17's. Hoping for no rubbing or at least minimal, easy to fix rubbing! LOL!!!

I've got 285/75r16, 0 offset. Original lift (bilstein 5100 on the top notch with stock coils) had no rubbing on cab mount (just needed a little love on the fender well). Just redid the front end. Same 5100's but now on the 2nd to last notch, Eibach pro springs and JBA UCA. Now she rubs going in and out of the driveway. Took her out for a little wheeling and deff need the cmc now. Feels 1000x better, except for the rub.
