Dealer under coating. OEM Tacoma bed mat, Weather tech mud flaps and Window Deflectors. Also added bed lights and switch.
I apologize for my ignorance as I’m new to the Mod world.
The above Taco didn’t come with a cargo light switch in the dash. However it is wired for the lights in the bed wall under the tail lights.
I ordered the below components based upon a note in the Amazon listing for the EOM light kit.
    Part Number Part Name
    PT857-35200 Bed Lighting Kit
    90080-87026 Fuel Pump Relay
    84267-0C020 Switch
Note: I ordered these items from oempartsorce.com for around $80.00 plus shipping. Much better pricing than Amazon or eBay!

I assume the cab is wired for this switch option as there is a vertical plug in the dash where I’ve seen the cargo switch on other versions of Taco’s.
    Now to my ignorance.
    1) I assume I can just push out the plug and there will be a harness there for it?
    2) Where does the relay plug in? I checked the main fuse/relay box under the hood but didn’t see a notation for the cab light/switch circuit?
    3) Will the vehicle automatically recognize the new parts and update the system so I can access the options for it in the system settings?
    4) Should I disconnect the battery before installing these components, and what consequences would that cause?

Please review and advise at your convenience!
    Thanks,
    Tom

Interesting, I did not know this was an option. I too have a 2020 taco and I would like to do this too.

1- Only you can be sure when blank is pushed out.
2- upload_2020-12-17_14-25-40.jpgit's in the cab, not the engine bay.
3- There's no magic/programming for the bed & cargo lamp on an SR. (it'll work)
4- You should anytime you mess with the electrics and electronics of the vehicle. SR has no reset features after battery disconnected. It'll run rough until it relearns the engine settings again.

P.S. Slot for switch should be horizontal. Unless you're OK with viewing the writing sideways (switch won't fit anyway) or use a Tundra switch.

Ok thanks, I’ll check out the relay location. Is it identified as such?
My bad on the switch. There is a horizontal one.

Verify that the relay terminals are there...(inside the relay slot)

A few members in the Forum had issues with the wire coming from the bed behind the tail lamps were not connected from the engine side to the cab. You should verify that also.

Ok. Can’t get the plug out. Difficult to get to from behind. There is a harness with a couple plugs on it in that area. Will need the switch to determine which one would be correct. Also, I assume I should be looking on the drivers side for the relay block? I didn’t see one it see what is there below.

Bed light switch connector looks like this but is black. It should be tucked into a plastic housing.

For the relays check behind that kick panel in your images.

*Edit: Also one thing to note is you probably won't have a switch blank for the horizontal bed light switch. You may need to order it aftermarket or get a different panel. @MESO sells panels for that side and can cut a bed light switch opening for you.

Ok. I did have the kick panel off but didn’t see the relay block. It’s got to be there somewhere as the vehicle has heated side mirrors as noted in the schematic above.
Also, there is a horizontal blank on the dash. Can’t get the plug out.
    Thanks!

Can you provide a more detailed location of the relay block. Is it behind the left kick panel?
    Thanks,
    Tom

If you found the cab fuse panel then the location you need is above and to the left.
But if you removed the cubby, you should see the relay location right in the background.

That video makes removing the panel look easy -- one pry at the upper right corner and it pops off. Well, I'm here to tell you -- it's not that easy. I spent a couple of hours prying at various points around the panel and made no progress. Or rather, it seemed like things were about to break. I stopped because I didn't want to damage a brand-new truck. There are 10 clips that need to be released. If you pry the way it's shown in the video, some of those clips are going to break for sure. I need to see the real-world procedures that the professionals use.

That's funny; I've ripped mine off about a dozen times and each time I Just pry at a corner and it pops off. You must have the super strength clip mod.

I took a small pointed pocket knife and stuck in the middle of the right sides the top row of switches. It popped right away. Then moved to the midline and got it to release. It does click a bit on the left side but had no broken tabs.

You guys that are successful in this seem to be using rigid tools (pocket knives, etc.). I was using a flexible spatula in an attempt to go in there and release the clip(s) while prying out. Maybe the secret is to simply pry and not worry about the clips. I'll try it again as soon as I get a chance.

(When you pry like that you are moving the whole panel slightly to the left. This may be just enough to allow the right-side clips to clear. We'll see.)
