Not much man. 5:00am - 5:00pm is dedicated to "work". Relieve the nanny and hang with the bebe 'till the wife gets home. Then try to jam in all the things that keep a household running until time to pass out. Doesn't leave time for much else. I want to finish my back bumper. Hope to steal a day for myself over the holidays to do that. Y'all good?

 

He's only 2 months old so they're still *relatively* odor free, but the stink is starting to ramp up. I guess it has to do with the bacteria in his gut forming or something. It'll only get worse from here.

That's a long day of work. Things are good here. My wife is still on maternity leave and I'm "working" from home. aka sit on TW from 8a-4p and help with baby a little bit during the day. I do most of the overnight stuff though so we have a good balance going on. I just want to do some welding and cutting and build this bed rack, so I'm starting to get some time to myself for that. I trade my wife uninterrupted nights for uninterrupted hours in the garage, so we should be seeing some sweet pics in here soon.

 

Yeah, the 2 hours of commuting puts it right on the edge of manageable. If it provides some light at the end of the tunnel, mine started sleeping through the night about 2 weeks ago at 9.5 months. That's on 100% tittymilk. You keep that truck build nonsense out of here.
I'm stoked to see the rack/cage/slider project get underway.

 

Lil george had a 6.5 hour stretch the other night. It was pretty fantastic. It's not uncommon to get a 4 or 5 hour chunk out of him for the first portion of the night. Currently, he only needs 2-3 overnight feeds between the hours of 9p-6a which really isn't all too bad. I'm excited for that longer second stretch though. 2 hour commute? ooof. My commute is 50 feet from my bed to my desk.

 

My dog poops outside all by himself, in the mulch even so I don't have to worry about "landmines"

Failure to communicate....

 

I got started on the bed rack today. I wanted the rails low (~4” above the bed rails) and I wanted the flat part that the tent sits on narrow, narrower than the tent by a couple of inches on both sides. This will make it easier to work the zipper on the rtt, and also allow me to reach in the bed with ease.

I did not take into account that once I cut the bars to sit on the bedside, they’re too long. So, I cut it vertically. Basically instead of being on top of the bed rails, they will be inside the bed rails. A little unorthodox, but it’ll still be plenty strong since it will be tied into the frame too. The top of the tube ultimately end up sitting only ~3” higher than the bed rails.

 

These bars came out better than I could have imagined. Holds that tent nice and loowwwww
