There's another thread here title what do you use your rear AC power for? Almost embarrassing and made me kind of bummed at the time, but was at a Jeep Jamboree with family and kids have to have cell phones charged. They have even harder time going without.

New windows is something the wife has mentioned a few times...or 2x too many. I admit new more thermal efficient windows would be nice, save some on utility bills, but I'm not willing to mortgage the house for them.

Creed will have some catching up to do. I took few pictures of some more shop equipment. I estimate each chip pan on this lathe is 5 foot edit 4.5' wide20201217_074940.jpg

Some places still offer rebates for getting them, takes some of the sing off

They also tend to cut out more noise

He asked the other day the length of this lathe and I wasn't sure. Measuring it looks like it would extend to about 17-18 feet. If tail stock was on lose 3 feet maybe. 20201217_160503.jpg

This is a horizontal mill that's come in handy. The facing head is attached to it now, plus there is a 90 deg adapter that can go on it. Its capabilities are way beyond anything I've used it for, like line boring etc. 20201217_074906.jpg

Here's a couple of pieces to the story I mentioned the other day about having the supervisor hastily making his way out of the shop so he didn't have to see. It was a job that a certain company quoted 250k to do and a 6 week turn around time. Would have added 30 days to our outage at a million a day. They don't ask if I am capable, just hey we got something for you.20201217_074202.jpg

The tap handle device I made, heavy wall pipe and 4' scaffold pole for cheater leverage. I searched around looking for the 2 biggest fellas I could find..both with green teeth (uneasy rider/cdb), oh..then I tell them call regal cutting tools and get me 2 3.5" NPT taps. They get this made in Bangladeshi or something 20201217_073854.jpg

The holes two of them needed weld repair, compound angles so I made that aluminum piece. I screwed the tap into hole needing repair then adjusted head until that aluminum piece would go over the tap with the quill. Then zeroed out x & y axis so the welders could grind and weld build up. This part was a gland steam exhauster and so large I hoped it didn't topple the mill over.

Been skinning a deer for a shoulder mount, washing meat, washing cooler, getting jacked up kids in bed and now I’m sitting in bed eating supper. Garlic triscuits with jalapeño cheese. Don’t ask how I stay a mere 159 lbs

They came out good (2 of them) and are being sent to the certified tig welders, probably be a couple weeks before they’re done with us being closed. They probably taking some time off as well, they work four 10’s and off on Friday’s anyway.
