The headers were on the truck when I bought it so I dont know for sure. It's a 3 bolt flange but JBA said it was a metal o-ring gasket, I'll just have to take it apart to know for sure.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Haven't even had time to clean up from the last project, and a new one arrives.

    Vinyl, to replace the carpet.

Sweet. I wanna see the finish product and get some feed back! You're the ginny pig. Lol. I hate when the wife and kid jump in with no care if my carpet gets dirty

Right on. Will let you know how it goes.

I may wait till after Christmas. I needed the vehicle side of the seat wiring harnesses for the BMW seats. I finally found a set on eBay today, and ordered them. It says they they will be here between 26th and 28th.

I have to do some tack welding inside the truck when I do those brackets, and don't want to screw up the new vinyl.

I’ve done a lot of crap to mine recently

$4k in repairs can’t remember what tbh, mechanical, something with a boot, could have kept driving it it wasn’t broke down but I could smell oil.

    in addition,
    Spray in bed liner
    Roll and lock bed cover
    K n cai
    New radio and speakers
    New skid plate
    Led headlights
    Had the antenna motor repaired
    Had the undercarriage sprayed too

it’s pretty sweet these days and fun to drive

lap the valves and get everything back together on the head tomorrow. other side in a few weeks.. then we get ready to put this sucker in the truck and see how some 3vz cams actually run after like 2 decades of no one appearing to provide proof of them running

who knows. this is a curiousity thing ive wanted an answer for for years. 3vz-fe in a 93 camry was rated at 185 HP at 5800 rpm. vs 190 at 4800. so who know how it'll respond. the 3vz also fuel cut at 7200 rpm but to take advantage of more RPM the matching 3VZ crank will be needed (which i have.. but not for this engine)

you can get good numbers. but VVTI has one MAJOR advantage. you get a much broader power band. thus in turn making it more usable power even if the peaks a bit lower.

my 05 tundra with VVTI is noticeably more peppy at all RPMs than the 04 and older non vvti 4.7s

Well the ferrari won't run on anything lower than 98 octane, I wouldn't put it past a Toyota to run fine on garbage gas

the cast crank cant be spun much faster than stock without imploding. 3vz-fe crank is drop in forged replacement. if you can find one. no new ones left (i bought the last one from toyota)

to make more top end you must sacrifice some low end. also, the stock intake plenum with its long runners really drags down top end HP. to truly take advantage of these youd need a supercharger or custom manifold
