SC w/urd pulley, afe cai, URD LT's, TRD cat back. 375hp. Custom logos, tonneau cover, westin bar with piaa lights, aero force gauges, custom front air dam, Westin step bars.
Hardly seems worth the effort and expense for a new pulley, new belt, install time and possible issues. Now another 50-60 hmmmm.
I guess when I get feeling frisky I'll just go hop in the vette...

Going to post in the main "TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods" also since this thread has been quite for a long time....

I did the Pulley Boys quick change mod today using the 5QCK kit. All went well until I turned the engine over and ran a few revs. The SC drive belt slid forward on the idler pulley immediately under the SC drive shaft after about 15 seconds (pics below). Anyone else have this as an issue? Before I build out the idler pulley I want to make sure I am not missing something else.

I checked all of the pulleys to make sure the belt is seated correctly. The pulley hub is pressed all the way on and is flush with the SC shaft.

Don't judge me on how long it took to get around to doing this :anonymous:.

Not yet. Called it a day after I got everything back together. As much as I tell myself I am going to take pics as I go, I almost never actually do.

My thought also, but I am flush with the shaft... Not sure where to go from there.

I simply measured the difference between the “original” pulley and the pulleyboys one. Adjusted for the difference. Just be careful not to run into the sealing plate behind the pulley. We left a tiny gap there. Maybe .010”

Keep hounding me in that I need to update that portion of the pulley change on page one because even though a lot of people have done it it's still a critical step and can leave a few scratching their head like our friend above.

Did you end up heating up the hub similar to press on pulley? I have one to install but haven't gotten to it yet.

No heat needed as the hub is stainless steel. I would put a small amount of anti seize on the SC shaft before install.

The aluminum pulleys need heat because the material can deform when pressed on and heat expansion could make it too loose during use. They machine those pulleys to tight tolerances so heat is used during install to achieve a proper non deforming and non slip fit on the dissimilar material steel shaft when everything cools down.
