I was really hoping that I could enable Remote Start on my non-tech 2020 OR when I saw the setting on the first page. I knew it was too good to be true. lol

Just read through all 20 pages, to my understanding, the main benefits of TS over Carista are being able to do TSB's and change TPMS values? Other than that, what am I missing? Seems like a whole lot of cable troubleshooting and wasted time for not much difference over Carista.

No need to visit the dealer to do TSBs, yes. There is no cable troubleshooting if you just start with one that is known to work in the first place.

If you don't care about flashing TSBs, stick with Carista.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the heads up.

I also have a MT and from what I've read, the AT's have more TSB's anyway.

Depending on what year your truck is, there is definitely a benefit to getting the latest TSB done.

So - can someone who follows this thread provide a page 20 executive summary?

Yeah, this devolves into jibber jabber pretty quickly for some of us. Is there a step-by-step dummies guide?

There is no summary really. This thread has mostly become breakout Q&A help on using Techstream. The ECU update thread at some 180 pages that tonered maintains is the main thread. First post has the step by step install guide, which pictures even.

Post up your specific question, someone will respond.

Tried connecting to my tacoma today and it stated the version of TS 14.20 was obsolete and to update. Does anyone have the newest version of TS?

You don't need it, but there is a version 15 floating around. Just disconnect from the internet when you use TS.

Wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to use TS or perhaps hidden in the HU a way to disable door open chime when key is in ACC mode? I want to be able to work on the truck with the doors open and blasting my music for the neighborhood when it is nice out (sadly won't be for another six months in WA...)

Nothing. Cutting out the speaker brings joy though.

Someone posted something to cure this. It was a genius solution and now I can't find it. Also: press the plunger in and see if that cuts it off. I think it does?
