Who did that work for you? As you remember I'm just on the other side of the valley. I was just daydreaming of the topic myself today, spending my 2.5hrs using the snow blower on a rocky gravel drive.

In one of my relatively recent previous lives I had a 2005 STi and an 85 mile one way commute. My favorite commuting days by far were when it snowed. I had a second set of rims with Blizzaks, which went on before Thanksgiving and came off somewhere around Tax Day. That car was not just unstoppable in snow -- it was a full-on hoot. All of which is my way of saying I feel ya brah.

I liked them and I like the job they did. They just finished the neighbor too. I'll dig around and find their name, and send you a PM.

Sounds like you guys got off easy -- I had 30" of snow  Got home last night around 8 (over an hour for a normal 20 minute drive), there was about 4" under the van when I excavated it out this afternoon. I was out before 5 this morning with 30" so had 26" in about 8 hours -- Holy $hit Batman!!

When I went out this morning I was planning on clearing a path to the road and off to work, wrong... Snow plow never went by in the night.

Took about 5 working hours (took all day, came in a few times to warm up, eat + a nap) with the 30 year old MTD snowblower and a shovel. Snow was so deep it would go over the top of the snowblower, I had to knock it down with the shovel so I could blow it. The town truck finally came by about 2 pm, left a mountain range 5 feet wide and 4 feet high across the driveway.

Finished just about 5pm -- I'm absolutely knackered. :bananadead: Would have much rather gone to work...

Wednesday was a regular day of snow prep. Left at 3. Called back at 5.Plowing through the night @midnight snow was cleared and it was sleeting. Pulled behind the shop and managed about 1.5 hours of sleep across front seat of my truck.Got everything cleaned up and put away @1pm.
Supposed to be off to use up time for the next 8 days.we will see how that goes.

We only got 5 inches of very wet dense snow. Took me about 45 minutes to clean off the cars in the driveway. I didn’t bother getting the snowblower out but I kind of wish I had.
It was good exercise though considering I’ve been rather sedate lately.
I’ll be covering for my boss starting tomorrow and through all next week so time to put on the authority hat.

Many folks have. Most important thing is to ensure you torque them properly.

Good morning fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!!! Looks like we all survived Snowmageddon 2020. As good as UTV plows, I'm still going tp buy a snow blower for next year to get the walkway and places where I can't use the plow. I figure it's time to acknowledge that I'm 65 and shoveling wet snow is probably not something I should be doing for ever.

I didn't pave our drive for maybe 5 years after we built. Every winter I'd plow gravel into the side yards and every spring rake it back so I could mow. Best thing I did was to finally pave it. You get the added benefit of the heat generated by the sun hitting the black surface and helping melt the residual snow and ice.

Lynn and I had our Covid tests yesterday after our trip to Florida last week. Both of us are symptom free but playing it safe and self-quarantining until we get the test results.

    Stay safe out there!!
