Cyberpunk2077 Caution, will contain spoilers

Maybe I'm getting old but I feel like people are being bitches about this. Ps4 here and there's some small glitches and it crashes once about every 3-4 hrs of straight play but the game auto saves every few minutes.

It needs a patch yeah but a full refund and pulling it from stores?

 

I feel the same. If it gets pulled off my console without my consent I'm going to be more pissed off then dealing with the glitches. lol

 

Probably the same people that felt being able to make your character trans was not being inclusive enough or too much.

 

Yep. I'm old enough to remember when every game played like shit and glitched out all the time. lol

 

First off, I have no skin in the Cyberpunk 2077 console discussion. I want to make that clear. I have a PC with a RTX 3090 so the game plays just fine for me.

That being said I heard a really interesting arguement today in favour of refunds. CD Projekt Red never showed a single console demonstration before launch. Not one. They gave every single reviewer a PC copy and even recommended that they play the game only on a 2080Ti or above. The impression they shared with the market was that the game had bugs but ran fine. Now, sure, people should know the console versions will struggle comparatively to high end PC hardware but CD Projekt Red intentionally made sure no reviewers tried the console versions before launch. Effectively, they pulled a fast one on anyone waiting for reviews before buying. Based on that alone a refund is probably the least they should offer.

 

I can see that point but this is far from the worst game launch ever. I guess my issue with it is the amount of attention this is getting and the level of outrage, allow refunds sure but people are making it out like they had to blood sacrifice their first born or dog to play this.


Like I said, I think im just getting old and cranky with young whipper snappers. In the grand scheme of gaming this isnt even top 5 worst gaming issues ive played or heard of, let along with life in general.

 

Oh I agree with the last paragraph. People forget the early DirectX days. Games would launch incomplete with an API that wasn't even ready for release lol.

 

The transition from software to hardware rendering was a rough time for some developers, but that sure as hell doesn’t excuse CDPR from not even being able to hammer down a physics engine in seven years. I’m absolutely floored Sony removed it and is offering refunds. Wonder if they know something we don’t about how bad it really is.

From what I gather Sony and Microsoft are pissed off about the way customers were hoodwinked. Using FO76 as an example, the game was shit but the reviewers at least let people know what to expect. Arguably, people knew what they were buying if they didn't pre-order. This was different. The reviewers score on this game was high because the reviewers were only allowed to play the PC version and on very good hardware. That's what has companies chapped. That, and CD Projekt Red really painted themselves into a corner when they mentioned refunds. After that there is no way back and a company like Sony is better off shutting things down for a while over letting this continue to be an issue.

 

Seems like you're pretty lucky. On my PS5 it crashes every 1.5-2 hours like clockwork. Not a big deal unless I'm playing a marathon session like today, pretty sure I've seen to start menu at least 5-6 times already. On the plus side, any little graphical issues are solved every 1.5-2 hours and the SSD boots me back in within a few minutes. Just glad I found the quicksave button in the main menu.

 

It sucks that it is so unplayable on the older consoles but if they are issuing refunds it is a huge thing for a company to do. I read earlier these screw ups cost them a billion dollars.

Not really into gaming rigs so i dont know the stats but I'm playing on a blue forza xbox 1, and this is just my 2 cent opinion. Anyway I've played I think a decent amount (got the 911) and while the execution is very poor the story is cool. Im am very disappointed about the driving physics and car selection/customization/buying choices. I was also hoping so mess with the ai peds (like in gta 4 and make them fight each other) I do like hacking and making the bad guys rage a bit but wish they would fight each other. Performance wise I'm not sure the frame rate but its not as good as forza, gta, snowrunner or other games I play. It does crash at inconsistent time some times I can play 2hrs and it ok but if you go in the menus it might crash or driving and it needs to load it freezes abit and might crash. some bugs that I have encountered is that when fixer is calling (sinner?) the person calling is silent but it continues like theyre talking and then gives you drop down to respond but you have n idea what was said. Other thing is the text message. If you respond while driving the car will continue and waits like 10 sec to load while the car is still hauling ass crashing into whatever is on the side or in front of you. Overall I'd say this is a 4.5/10 game. I am hoping they deliver on the fixes and dlc and whatnot, this is my first pcdr game and its not a good first experience.
Also alot of this. Sometimes its lol and others its annoying.

 

If you spend any time on the Cyperpunk Reddit you'll have a laugh at some of the terrible bits of the game. It's like they got JP from Grandma's Boy to help rush the game out

I'd say that's realistic as hell. Don't text and drive. lol

 

These console kids have never played skyrim with unsupported mods and it shows
