Looking more closely at the vent sections there does appear to be velcro to secure the inside portion. That outside portion will flap in strong winds...looking forward to trip reports. I've been in strong winds where I worried about the FWC sides and roof. They are robust but being inside during those times is a bit unnerving.

Thanks for the interior pics. Those are the best I've seen and I can't wait for my Tundra top! I am really curious if the top will shut with the mattress deflated and the panels up front like in your picture? I can think of times this would be really helpful, like getting out of the rain in a hurry or popping the top just to jump in and change clothes without wanting to fool around with the bed sections.

I finally emailed Cindy to get an update on estimated timeline. Seeing others who put deposits down a month ahead of me getting installed now I was optimistically hoping I'd hear from her soon with installation end of January. No dice. She said I should hear back sometime in January with install date in late Feb or early March. Guess they could have had 2-3 months worth of production place orders in September so it's probably not far off. Just bummed as I was hoping to have this for winter camping coming up. I'm off work as of tomorrow so will have plenty of time to freeze my ass off in the evenings coming up!

All you need is a good bag, hot water bottle between your legs, and maybe a Mr. Buddy heater and you'll be good to go. Actually the Mr. Buddy will get the camper too hot.

Sleeping isn't an issue for me, I actually prefer it cold, I sleep better. Winter camping it's from sunset until bedtime that sucks, especially when there is still a fire ban. It's usually cold and windy where I camp. My go-to is either sitting outside wrapped in my sleeping bag, or if its really windy and cold I just hang out in the drivers seat. I usually sleep in a bivy sack. Tent is only when I'll be in the same place a few days, which is rare. All too often it's too easy just to recline the driver seat and sleep there. That's why the Super Pacific was so appealing. Somewhere to hang out, out of the wind when it's cold and minimal setup time with bedding all in place. I'll make do for now, but would be nice to have this sooner than later. This winter has seemed colder than previous years for me.

Hey guys, got word from Cindy I have an official install date set for Jan. 6th... Woohooo! Can't wait to see what this bad boy will look like, went with the white canopy (black hardware) to keep the storm trooper look going on the taco

Thought I'd give an update so y'all could get an idea of where they are at w/ installs

I’m one of the 2 or 3 1st Gen Tacoma orders. Proud to own a truck that doesn’t have a shark fin on the roof. Does anyone know if they’re going to design a specific 1st Gen X-1 for our logically rectangular beds and our lower cab heights? I really don’t need 5 or 6 inches from cab to overhang (although I suppose I could store a folding table there). Thanks.

Me too! I'm getting older, seems like every winter is colder. I don't work outdoors like I used to though either.

When there is a fire ban where I'm camping seems like I sleep about 11 hours a night. Not a bad thing but sometimes I feel like a camping trip is wasted.

You'd better voice your opinion to them now. The Alu-Cab and other products have a HUGE gap above the cab and for those of us (like me) that didn't or don't want a roof rack to carry a pack of twinkies, having the overhang close to the roof is nice.

I've been on a few cold camping trips recently, one with a burn ban and a propane fire is a waste of everyone's time. But the Exped mat is awesome in the cold, the foam on the inside traps your body heat so it doesn't suck the heat out like a full airmatress does

Hell yea, this is good news for me as my deposit was only 10 days after you and we both have 2nd gen LB.

I'm not sure how they are running their components, but i'd think a 10 day window would be close enough for them to be running batches of 2nd gen lb (but I only have a degree in supply chain so who knows ;) )

wow I almost thought I wrote this !
Cold isn’t much of an issue for me either. I layer up and adjust. Got a nice heavy wiggys made in USA sleeping bag for winters. What I hate is the short day! I use this as an opportunity to read a book actually. I don’t read all year but on winter nights at camp alone I’ll read a book. I can’t sleep that long. I don’t do camp fires when I’m alone either though. Not worth the hassle.

    Hey man.
Yes after the 2nd 3rd gen fit issue I was vocal about making sure it fits on a first gen. They have been working hard on that and looks like they’ve selected a local first gen for test fit / RD. I did not ask them to keep the top of tent close to roof. Figured it was a given but you can always email them with more input.

ps: your shark fin comment is hella funny.

yah same here. not quite sure the hold up for some orders. When I see someone after me with the same config (truck wise) it does not make sense and tend to get a similar run around that they are working on scheduling but not sure really how its being handled. We will get it just a bummer that it likely wont be until feb/march I am guessing at this point if I had to think of a realistic date.

Just got word today that mine is pushed out to Feb install. Original estimate was end of Dec. I’m ok with it though since it’s still cold and rainy here in the PNW lol! Gives me time to get my roof wrapped and bedsides sealed lol! I have the stuff to do everything just been slacking
