It’s actually designed to break the airflow in front of your tires for less rolling resistance. You’ll find this type or variations of this design on a lot of vehicles. It’s not for mud...

Well I got my Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/75/16s installed Wednesday evening and woke up yesterday morning to three out of the four completely flat.

Had to call my mom to borrow her car to drive to my dads work (15miles away) to borrow his compressor all before my mom needed her car back to go to work. Put about 25PSI in the tires to get me to a gas station to pump more air in (2miles away). Then drove 15 miles to to Discount Tire to get my tires fixed. All in all, they said they f***** up badly. They still have the best customer service though.

Welcome to 33” wheels to me. I’ll post a picture of the truck when I’m not working. Been a busy work week and truck problems.

I've had one for a few years now and have mixed feelings about it. It's not as easy and fast to setup and use as most people make it out to be. It's heavy and kind of a pain to move around. Hydraulic cables are kind of a mess and a trip hazard.

With that said, I absolutely LOVE it for my Integra. It's not only lowered but also has had the front jacking point replaced with an aftermarket crossmember that's not good as a jacking point. Due to all of this it's a HUGE pain in the ass to get it up off the ground on all 4 corners and up onto jack stands. Even harder to get it high up off the ground. And impossible to lift it on to 4 stands while inside my garage with the door closed. The Quickjack makes getting this car high up in the air a breeze by comparison. I even just recently bought some small ramps that now allow me to raise it another 3" or so.

For pretty much every other scenario on all of our other cars I usually just use a jack and stands. The Quickjack is nice for instances where you need to get the whole car up off the ground but that's fairly rare for routine maintenance. If I'm changing oil, rotating tires, doing brakes...etc I usually find it easier/faster to skip the Quickjack. I haven't tried using it on my Tacoma yet but I know it'll have a hard time getting it very high off the ground. There are newer models that lift higher though (I think, unless they are yet to be released).

I used to go to the track a lot and thought that the Quickjack could be awesome there. But, they're so big, bulky and heavy that it just doesn't make sense. If I was towing a car to the track and had extra storage space, then maybe it'd work but still, lugging them around is a PITA. As it stands now there's no way in hell these massive frames are fitting in the back of my Integra for the drive to Buttonwillow.

In my situation, with low ceilings, small garage, and a low to the ground, finnicky project car the Quickjack is sort of the only decent solution and is a big help for me. But, before buying a Quickjack I would consider your other options which may be a lot more useful:
    • Used 2 post lifts are fairly inexpensive
    • Harbor Freight (or other) scissor lift
    • Low/mid rise lift (like you often see at tire shops)
    • MaxJax or similar 2 post lifts designed for low ceilings

I hope to have a MaxJax portable 2 post lift in my garage next year or may even go with an atlas 2 post lift which are on sale for less than $2k right now. My garage has 10 ft ceilings but I could get away with a 12 foot post extending into the rafters for a heavier weight capacity. MaxJax is more expensive and has less weight capacity but would be fine for our trucks. The portability is a nice feature but I'd probably leave it in place.

JBAs are on the list for me along with a good mid-travel suspension upgrade.

Are you still on factory suspension after doing the JBAs? Similar to the baja/pro red coils in your pic, I like the red of JBA UCAs and would want something with the quality of the king setups but man that red and blue combo would not look good to me. .

Awesome, thank you for the review. My main thought of the Quickjack was to get my Z up off the ground during the winter to eliminate the possibility of flat spots on my tires during the "storage season". Maintenance takes a strong 2nd place for the use of the lift.

I opted not to get the MaxJax because I don't think my garage floor is thick enough and figured the portability of the Quickjack would be better suited for my needs. I have tentative plans to raise my ceiling a bit and if that happens I may consider a MaxJax (or similar) or an in-ground, flush scissor lift. Either would require concrete work though.

Have you had flatspots before? I hear about them but I've never seen them. My car sits A LOT. Although I suppose it does get rolled around every couple of months usually. I think that the Quickjack is a waste for the purpose you intend to use it. You may be attempting to solve a flat spotted tire but you're introducing a new variable of having the suspension hang at full droop. Which is a no-no in terms of car storage as it can lead to premature suspension bushing failure.

If all you're after is preventing flat spots then I'd look into a specialized solution. I'm sure there are other (likely cheaper) options out there but here's an idea of what I'm talking about: https://www.raceramps.com/car-storage/p/rr-fs-10/

I don't blame you there. My old garage had a 4(ish)" slab that was well aged and I wouldn't have trusted that although some people have installed them in 4" slabs and they seem to be okay. Depends how much you trust that slab with your life :) My new garage was just built this summer so we poured a 12" deep footing with rebar across the workbay where the lift will eventually go.

Yeah, and here in earthquake country it's definitely something I'd want to be cautious with.

Yes i still have the baja suspension aka bilsteins. Red looks sweet but definitely not with kings lol. The bajas came with a pretty good suspension in my opinion but since you mentioned long travel at that point kings are the way to go. I wont be doing any extreme rock crawling but moderate off roading I have already done and my truck has held up great. With the new edition of the JBA’s and removing the sway bar it will be even better... hopefully.

No, thankfully I have never had to deal with flat spots. I normally drive it at least once per month throughout the winter, but this season has been quite cold and snowy so far, so I'm just trying to be preventative. I guess I just need to buck up and put the T-tops on and turn the heater on and drive it more often. LOL

Those look like a good idea and yes, I hear you on hanging my suspension in full droop. Thanks for the link.

138k it’s a 2012. My 08 base was totaled day before thanksgiving. Purchased this a few weeks later.

it’s not new or perfect but it works.
Seats and creature comforts far exceed what I had. The v6 has way more power. Frame is ok it should get a new one before times up I’d think. Dealer put a bunch of work into it before sale air pump has been done. Not sure how I feel about the exhaust. But all in all I really like it.
Mine had some lift etc I thought it rode ok but this is much better. Guess I’m getting old, don’t have much intent to mod. I have 265/75/16 Cooper evolution mt’s I plan to run come warm weather. 2D8A25A8-895B-4B77-B7FF-C10BCE78CF73.jpg
    I’ll miss it.

I’m still going thru posts about the lockers atrac etc. It definitely piss’s and moans when trying to play in the snow.
