    You are right. But when Covid hit my activity level decreased because everything went virtual. I went from 21,000 steps a day down to 2 or 3,000. But I have no doubt the thyroid played a role. Especially on those days I would gain weight just by looking at the scale. Hahaha. I was telling the doc that it seems like a cruel game to play since weight gain goes hand in hand with low thyroid and weight determines how much meds I have to take. Her doctorly response was “So don’t gain weight.” Hahaha It’s a lot of work to stay balanced.

    Yeah. My 12 year old grandson has put on 20 pounds since March. I keep trying to keep him active, but he has become very complacent.

    I think that's a fine most everywhere. Not that it stops most folks. Also a fine for not shoveling the sidewalks but no one in my neighborhood cares.

    most rural areas around here have mailboxes grouped together a safe distance away from the road. theres a few individual ones that are on a pivoting system - a big L shaped pole with a guard in front of the box. when the plow comes by it hits the guard and the mailbox rotates with the motion of the plow. once the plow passes the pole is spring loaded and swings back to its regular position.

    thats why i go for a 2 mile walk everyday. i dont get the same steps in at home as i do in the office. i move around more at home, i just dont have as far to travel to the bathroom, coffee, fridge, so overall its a net loss. love my walks.

    G'morning and happy Friday! :hattip:

    Busy day yesterday with snow removal using my trusty ARIENS snow blower, shovel and snow brush. Made a 'CAT SHELTER' for any feral puss needing it. Removed the water that leaked onto the bathroom floor from the snow melting in the open vent in the skylight in the bathroom. Changed, medicated and fed the ex-old lady. And not necessarily in that order. :benchpress:

    @MTgirl

    you would have a hard time convincing me I need to clean a sidewalk that isn’t mine and then if someone fall from ice I’m responsible?
    Yea right.

    but its only icy when they don't get shoveled.
    i think the city looks at it as an extension of your property so technically yours

    After my grandson finished his remote schoolwork for the day, we took a 2 mile walk with the dog. With the temperatures in the mid 30s and no wind, it was quite pleasant.

    no. you're only allowed to tell people to get off your lawn, not the sidewalk.

    So if I don’t want them on the sidewalks I have to take care of I just don’t shovel it. City property let them take care of it. Or if I do have to do it then I’m working for the city so I need to be employed so I need to get paid for it

    Ha!! Florida isn't supposed to be cold! Y'all stay warm but when this calms down get ta doing some fish'n. :D Reminds me of a trip I took to Florida with a buddy back in 2001ish or around that time. We were determined to catch a big one at Stick Marsh Farm 13 based on some fish' stories he read about. He was a big bass fisherman. Anyway we left Texas with temps in the mid 90s....with a cold front on our tails. Land in Florida to a balmy 90 degrees. Life is good. Drank some cold brewskis and called it an early night. Woke up to gale force winds and temps in the 30s. Fished our hiney's off and thanks to the guide landed some mini monsters in 5-6lb ranges. We were wet and down right cold when we got back to hotel. Total side note but the really cool thing - we got to see the space shuttle launch from the balcony of our roach motel. Even got to catch a tiney speckled trout before we headed back home the next day. Great times in Florida...actually great simple times. :thumbsup:
