could build a mini fuse box to keep your aftermarket stuff separated from the OEM stuff.

not sure what in the OEM fusebox does what exactly and what is live to supply the 5v for the camera...

Correct, end of January the production model will be available to showcase. Late February/early March, we will start being able to ship orders. Canopies are looking at April/May

Has the Bay gotten that bad?

I haven't been back there in a few years, but none of my family have said anything.

@TRDTaco420 's camera takes 12V if I remember correctly from my mistake 6 years ago.

    Don't think there's a 5V source in the fusebox.

since the truck has a USB port and the USB 2.0 standard uses 5V for power. (it ranges but typically it's 5v)
but in regards of where it's stepped down from 12 to 5 - i can't imagine it to happen inside the fusebox

i assumed the camera ran 5v as most products these days run off of USB in some way shape or form (my Papa GO! Front and rear dash cams run off USB).

Well I’ll tell you guys I wired it to the battery terminal and ground and works just fine. Tomorrow a new switch and a fuse assembly and front end camera is done.
Canadian tire deals, gotta love it.

Yes, since the camera is marketed as a backup camera, it's intended to be wired to the reverse lights, which are 12V.

Does the display have a toggle between normal and mirrored view? The model I installed 6 years ago didn't have a toggle. Mirrored view is almost impossible to use off-road... unless I guess if you're a dentist.

As I understand, the single USB port in 2016-2019 trucks gets its 5V power from the radio (it's intended for playing music files and sucks for charging). The port is also used to flash software updates to the radio. Not sure if you have ever done it.
