Haha those assholes at Ed Martin did the same to me. I specifically told them to NOT wash my truck, told the kid several times. I had just detailed it myself and it looked immaculate. I came out of the waiting area when they were done and completely covered in hard water spots and looked like garbage. I was pissed! Haven’t been back there since.

    First thing I noticed is:
Before TSB when it shifted to 4th, then it became a "dog" and the engine would run around 1000 rpms, too low imo.
After TSB when it shifts to 4th, it's around 1500 rpms and is a sweet spot imo and doesn't "lug" the engine.

The drivability is definitely improved. The truck doesn't feel like it is our of breath when accelerating. Definitely a welcome update.

Not for the 2018s. There's only the old TSBs for 04A61 or 04A71.

I don’t have much data yet, but I’d be surprised if any fuel economy decreases aren’t just from using more skinny peddle. I’ve noticed I accelerate a little faster than previously just because it feels so much better when it isn’t rapidly up shifting and lugging at 1k RPMs. Anyone who is in this TSB should definitely get it done whether or not you feel like you have an issue. I was okay with how the truck performed before, I didn’t complain about it anyway, but this is a pretty big difference for the better.

Yes...just did this with my last tank. Noticeable difference. Was wondering if it was just me. Feels like a different truck since the TSB update. Very pleased with the improvement.

I tried noticing the difference with the original tune and didn’t notice much/any difference. Will have to try it again, premium isn’t too high right now at sams club.

My statement from this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ecu-tsb-update.562550/page-194#post-24772076

I was already quite happy with my truck, but now it is even a little bit better.
Like everyone else is saying, I noticed how it now holds gears longer before down-shifting; and I noticed how much more responsive the throttle is now, and how much smoother the throttle response is also.
Another big improvement that I noticed is how smoothly it runs when I first start it while it is cold. Before, it wanted to surge hard as I was pulling out of my garage, and I had to hold it back with the brakes; now it runs very smoothly when first started, and I don't have to stand on the brakes to hold it back.

I'm still noticing other minor improvements too. Overall, I would describe this Update as a very nice enhancement/refinement to an already good truck, and I heartily recommend it!

I doubt Toyota will be in any rush to update the older models.

Had my 2020 TRD OR reprogrammed today with tsb-0092-20. Toyota dealership did it at no charge and no hassles. Improvements are more responsive gas pedal, shifts smoothly through all gears, truck feels smoother, truck feels much more responsive due to the gas pedal not needing to be pushed down so far for a response.

It runs how it should have run when bought new. My guess is that one of the changes they did to the software algorithm is changed the acceleration lookup tables to allow for all up shifts to go to higher RPMs across all acceleration rates of change. This keeps the truck from dropping RPMs down to 1100rmps on up shifts. Once cruising the truck will go to 1100rpms which is fine.

    Very happy with the improvements.

This Friday night me & Dumbo are going Raptor hunting with the new tune! :benchpress:
