Yup mine kinda sounded like that this time last year when I was getting ready to drive my truck up north for xmas. Was afraid it was the water pump but turned out to just be the idler pulley bearing, cheap fix.

I appreciate. I’ll see if I can pinpoint which one tomorrow.

What confirmed it in my case was when I saw there was play in the idler pulley, could wiggle it a bit which indicated the bearing was bad and causing all the noise. Would get louder with the RPM

My ARB fridge has been great and meeting my needs since 2015 but now I go out and stay out for weeks at a time and so I really wanted a true dual-zone unit so I can keep large Costco-sized stuff frozen and beers (and other essentials) merely cold. Got a good deal (with a code about $200 less than I originally paid for my 50qt ARB) on an ICECO 68.7QT VL65 Dual Zone Fridge Freezer (https://icecofreezer.com/collections/dual-zone-fridge-freezer/products/iceco-vl65-dual-zone-12v-car-portable-fridge).
    16083412803282.jpg

It is a couple of inches bigger in all dimensions than the ARB and big enough that I had to remove the passenger seat to get it into the spot the ARB was, next to the 22 gallon water tank.
    16083412803201.jpg

Bit of a tight fit but got it in and wired up to my 2nd battery (Battleborn LiFePO) and it works great. Same compressor brand as the ARB (Danfoss) so it's really quiet and doesn't draw too much electricity. It hangs over the shelf a bit so I am going to build a little stand that supports the front end and projects out into the area the passenger seat once occupied so I can add a comfy, padded throne for my girl (dog) to lounge in instead of having to curl up on the seat.
    16083412802980.jpg
Also changed all three drive belts since one (or more) of them was making that "This is my "'I'm threatening to actually squeak and embarrass you in public'" sound.

    16066821430768.jpg

So now I have a perfectly good ARB fridge with the remote monitor up for grabs for anyone interested in the SF Bay Area. Hit me up if that person is you.

Well the valves are in. Hopefully by the end of January the other heads done so I can put it all back together. [IMG] Lapped and all that fun stuff. Still in good shape for 260k miles. (Exhaust valves had a bit of pitting. But eh.)

The closest thing to off-road my truck does is the parking lot at Lowe’s so I’m not too worried. ;)

Been having some issues with my throttle body. Bought the OEM Throttle Position Sensor but 1st decided to take it apart to give it a good cleaning and decided to swap in a new throttle body gasket (the one from Underdog Racing) that is a fully open circle and originally made for Super Charger duty (doesn't have that little piece blocking the flow.) No exciting pictures but here is one of the old gasket.

    throttle body gasket (original).jpg
Black line is a sharpie showing the "extra" coverage and for when I get around to dremeling it out for a spare. Pulled the EFI fuse by mistake while doing the swap and so the computer didn't "reset" and, on startup, it ran like shit. Pulled the EFI relay instead, waited 30 minutes or so and then tried again. After a major bout of ghost revving and excessive smoke and a real rich exhaust smell it still ran like shit (idling fine but any acceleration on the road resulted in choppy, shuddering, cutting out behavior.) Major depression sets in and so I took a chill pill (Stone IPA) and tried to relax. Decided that one on/off cycle wasn't enough time for the computer to figure out what the hell was going on and so did it 2 more times (letting it idle until warm both times). On the next test drive it ran fine and seemingly pulls a teeny, tiny bit harder than before. Now have several hundred miles on it since then and no issues have cropped up. $9 for the gasket (ended being double that with shipping), topping off a bit of coolant that I lost taking off the throttle body and several hours of stress later I am glad I did it.

Drove mine for the first time in a couple weeks. Shop finally finished-
Steering rack and outer tie rods
    Alignment
    Front brakes with calipers
    Brake flush
    Coolant flush
    Carrier bearing
    Left valve cover replacement

I supplied all the parts to save money.

they did a phenomenal job. Great pricing and a cool shop owner. Definitely going there for work. And it’s about 5 miles from my house in the same town.

My under-hood kazoo noise has advanced to a full time noise, louder when turning the wheel. Truck will be parked until further notice. 39F out and I miss my garage.
