Yeah, squash, potatoes, turkey, cranberry relish, the dinner roll, corn...then gravy on top. Like watching somebody stir open a portal to the underworld.

4 chicken breast add 1 jar of salsa. Slow cook 3 hours and bam. Shred chicken and put over rice or make chicken tacos. So easy and really good.

Does anyone have a good Brisket recipe they can recommend for the Crock Pot? The idea is to do multiple things with the brisket afterwards, including adding it to Ramen. So I don't want to cook it with BBQ sauce, that I will add later depending on the meal (sandwiches etc..).

Guess I am just looking for a good general use rub you recommend? Should I char the top of it afterwards in the broiler for a cpl mins? Etc...

    Thanks!

I typically smoke briskets so take it for what its worth. A heavy dose of salt and pepper only.

I think I’d cook it in the oven before trying it in the crock pot.

I feel like the meat would turn mushy like the pork ribs or pork shoulder I’ve done in a crock pot.

Although corned beef can be done in a crock pot and I think that’s the same or similar cut of meat. @Cold Iron do you know?

I’m really interested to see how it turns out though if you try it. Good luck!

Slow cooker chicken stew with bacon and a chili powder/cayenne pepper/smoked paprika/lemon juice slurry?? How ya' gonna beat that?!
This rates a solid 8/10 on the Hobbs-O-Meter!  Will absolutely make this again!

Corned beef in an Instant Pot works well IME, better than a slow cooker. This worked well for me, the IP being a pressure cooker helps make it tender. Corned beef can be tricky like you said don't want it too mushy. But don't want it too dry either, it is a fine line.

With corned beef I can't help but think of Meg Ryan at Katz’s Delicatessen who supposedly has the best corned beef in the world.

I'll have what she's having LOL

My mom dropped of a "pork loin" that was too big for her. Turns out it was a bone in butt. Carnitas it is. Deboned it, covered with oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Into the slow cooker with onions, jalepeno, and garlic. Didn't have an orange and didn't want to go to the store so I took a can of mandarin oranges, rinsed off the sweet crap and blended them up. Poured that over everything. We'll see how it turns out. Now I gotta go make some tortillas. Corn, lard, and warm water. I'll post pics when it comes out.

it actually turned out better than I thought it would! Texas beef brisket, 3.5 lbs. 8 hours on low, then 2 mins under a broiler after. Rub went on last night, cooked today. Really moist, but not soggy at all. Really good taste. BBQ sandwiches tonight, ramen tomorrow
