I probably have a picture somewhere. My Jeep senior year of college. The rear passenger window actuator cable snapped. In October/November. In Orono, Maine. I was a cheap college student to begin with but more so didn’t want to spend an hour in the frigid cold trying to wrench that.

so. I popped off the window trim. Ran a ratchet strap down to the window shelf and hooked onto it. Where to connect to....ah yes. The clothes hanger thing in the headliner. So that cam buckle tie down held up the window (and the door shut, every so often someone would try to open it if I forgot to warn them after I just got accustomed to it being there).

...it passed NH inspection like that. And then I fixed it once I was employed after senior year. Took 10 minutes but that was day light and warm.

 

That's my favorite mod on my Crosstrek! It changes its own oil!

 

So it's like automating the task..

 

Don’t need to change the filter if there’s no oil to filter.

 

I just throw a few pinches of polishing sand into the oil fill every once in a while. I need a reason to LS swap this bitch.

 

I mean, it has an automatic transmission..

 

my 01 civic ex had 230k miles on it, and was leaking and burning oil so quickly. i just kept the cheap oreilly's stuff on me at all times

 

My Friends father, before he past, drove a 93 Honda accord that had 505,000 miles. After 300,000, he figured as long as he changed the oil in it once every 50,000 he would be fine since he already got his moneys worth. It finally died at 506,000.

 

that's awesome. the highest i've seen in person was a 480k miles one owner civic that we took in on trade. it looked mint though

 

One of my techs I used to work with at Subaru has a really old Celica (like 70's? Kinda looks like a wanna-be muscle car) with 535k on it.

Ah, the CB7. I had a 90 as my first car and I was so spoiled by it. It was just that good a first car. I probably shouldn't have spend $3,000 on rust repair, but I did. I still miss it, even if it was painfully slow. I think I spent nearly $8,000 on mods / upgrades / repairs on that thing over the time I had it. Hardly money well spent, but I really thought it looked good by the end.

A few years back I was hyped for white HIDs on my Mazda. Now I’m super hyped for halogen lights in yellow on the Tacoma waiting for the sun to drop and then taking it for a spin.

I just checked the Toyota Owners site and my trucks frame LSC is no longer listed as an open item, so I think I'm good to go. I love that they included the notes from my original document where I noted that I didn't get the spray but I did get the plugs and the warranty per my 11/23 phone call with (Service Advisor Name).

Do I need a 5th set of wheels, no. Do I feel like I'm going to change my mind on my winter wheels before my new snow tires wear out? Absolutely.
