I don't know how many miles I have looked in my rearview and saw that truck, but it's a lot. It's actually been used, and I'm sure has a few stress fractures here and there. I wish I had more pics of it, but we were too busy wheeling to take pics most of the time.

Dont mean to switch subjects but i had a random thought. Does anyone else think that the jacked up 4x4's with giant tires sort of resemble a 80's style roller skate?

Yeah the driver side has a crack that I have to weld up and on the same side where the secondary shock hoop mounts to the frame its cracked all the way around the weld.

No way man. I like dealing with all the issues that my 4wd brings. And I need to pull the diff to restab my steering shaft a few teeth over from where I did during the diff install. Then my truck will track a little straighter:eek:

At one point I actually jumped a couple of teeth on my steering rack. You should be able to remove the steering shaft from the rack without removing anything else from the truck. I didn't even pull any of the wheels off the truck.

Accessed it through the driver's side wheel well, although I might have more stuff removed from my truck and that might be why it was possible.

In any event, give it a shot before pulling that differential again. That job blows.

Ok, so i've never owned a GPS and I think this Christmas is the perfect time to get myself one. I've been drooling over Lowrances for a while now. Let me know which one I should get (model) and if there are any good deals in the community I should know about. Im pretty interested in the HDS5 Baja, but isnt there also another model called the Elite?

I played with the HDS5 Baja at kartek. To me it seems like a really good unit. Menus are easy to navigate and the screen is really clear and bright. Also you can store a bunch of way points / trails on it and It also can expand the memory. I think you can get that one for $500 even if you can get an order of 2 or more. I can't remember who told me that though.

The Baja is nice and everything you need for what we do. If you're going to do a pimp in dash system don't mount it in front of the passenger airbag. I get around pretty good with just my iPhone (for top/ave speed data) and a general idea of where I want to go.
