A little something every chance we get.
Can't weld, but I can solder. That looks like "cold flow", where your joining material is not coming to proper temps. Don't know if that counts with welding the same way, but it leads to clots and blobs. (Hope this is of some help!)

It is the same concept, I'll try upping the amps more and keep the feed low. It is a rather large gap I'm working with so it could be that to weld pool is cooling too much before I get all the way across it.

I wouldn’t hesitate to contact county game warden.

You can stake an iron rebar in middle of some prickly pear, and attach camera to it, make sure the camera faces towards a North direction, with some cactus being behind the camera to help cast shadow on the camera itself.

    where is your lease near/at?

this is something I need to do more of, I probably need to dedicate a half day of practicing about every 10days or so I can be more proficient.

Might be best to YouTube and search someone who is using the same or very similar equipment as yours.

Del Rio. I actually contacted TPW last week and got names for game Wardens in the area. I wanted to see how this weekend went first. So far nothing.

I did find a few good videos with some tips, I'll give it another shot tomorrow and see if I can do any better.

I have enjoyed the learning process so far. I'm almost out of wire already, and scrap metal too. I need to go to a steel yard. I've never been to one, though I imagine it's similar to a lumber yard, just heavier.

I would say your not getting enough penetration to the material, also may be going too fast. What thickness are you working with ?

    Good morning

I get .055 on the veneers, so 16GA ish for the square tube.
The round I have no idea, it's a dolly (probably from Harbor Freight) I got free from a neighbor.
I'll up the amps some more and have a go that way. I feel like I was moving pretty slow, but well see how this goes.

Thank you! I'm happy with that.

I pushed the amperage up to 16.5 and wire feed to 120. I was at 13A and 80 FPM before, trying not to burn holes in the pipe. I came in at more of an angle too, welding into the pool and sweeping back and forth to catch both pipes. So I wasn't jamming the wire directly into the metal and just blowing through it.
I tried to slow down a bit more too.

Thank you guys for the input!

    What a Great day SA.

The deer blind was loaded up last night and taken to the property this property this morning.

Game feeders and ATV loaded up, another busy day ahead of us tomorrow, stopping off at the property to drop truck off, stop by bank to write a big check, off to closing with title company, back to property, celebratory Praise Jesus Coldbeers, set up feeders, and then head home broke, but truly blessed. :yay:
