I've seen a few around. To be honest I see far more Tacomas and and the GM mid size trucks then this Ranger version. The old Rangers I still see too, much more than the new ones. They only put it out in 2019 and for half of 2019 it wasn't seen outside of Autoshows. I think they are still selling the 2020 now. Ford is late to come back to the game.

This is why I went with a Tacoma. The new Ranger can be had for a lot less with the extras I like but I wanted something I could drive for years. The Taco is known to go 200k+ and still have a lot left with generally not so many major issues. New Ranger is still unknown in that category.

Also Taco looks a heck of a lot better than the Ranger. The entire front end looks off, I can't pinpoint it exactly. Maybe it's a combo of things?

MY brother keeps thinking about trading in his hybrid rave4 for a mini version of my tacoma, but toyota keeps building bigger pickups ...says the current tacoma is too big, and won't fit in his garage.

Gonna start with this... I would never buy a ranger. I just think they are ugly as hell. Tacoma is more functional to me in every way....and I own a 4x2.

BUT those shitting on Ford make me laugh. I have never had maintenance issues with any of my cars.

84 lx 5.0 (finally fried piston rings around 500,000 miles.....470k if I remember correctly doing a burn out lol )

84 GT (sold at 225k miles or so no issues)

2003 cobra (smaller pulley, exhaust etc. 500 rwhp. 160k miles...no issues)

2003 10th anniversary cobra (sold at 190k or so. Also modified, just around 500 hp....490 I believe, no issues)

Edit: my buddy just rebuilt his turbo’s at 200k on his ecoboost f series. No issues other than that. And they didn’t need to be rebuilt. He is just a maintenance freak

Edit #2: fords arent a bad vehicle. Just not for everyone. The Austrian rout looks wise is just not my style (just like the early 2000’s GTO’s). I fully plan on upgrading to a raptor when finances allow.

I rarely see any new Rangers but do see plenty of the old ones out and about.

Truth. I just don't see them. I see Tacoma's everywhere in the Northwest, but Rangers and Colorado's are the rare sighting.

    The 2.3 engine is fantastic!

The old 2.3 Lima that is, in the older rangers. Excellent reliability and efficiency.

Yikes. Yeah i would have done the same.

I forgot to add to my post, i was doing oil changes every 3k miles, maybe thats why my truck was trouble free? Manual stated every 5k if im not mistaken. Oil was pitch black at 3k.

Yes 100%. The lima engine was as good as toyota 4 bangers i would say.

The duratec 2.5 was pretty good as well.

Had a 99 ranger 4.0 5 speed manual. One of the best vehicles I've ever owned. Thing was great. Miss it sometimes.

It still had that bullet proof push rod 4.0. Gutless and thirsty though.

Would like to add, we had 1990 aerostar with the old school 4.0 for work and that bad boy would not die.

Bitches love to drink! Haha for a regular cab it did the job. The ONLY reason I left it was passenger space.

Ford used to make great mini trucks... on par with toyota IMO.

I looked into the Ranger before they were released just to make sure another Tacoma was the ticket. My Ford salesman said he could get me in an F150 (way more truck) for not much more cash.

I was looking at a new fx4 access cab with 5.0 but no MT option. It was 33k brand new.

I bought a new 2020 Ranger FX2 about a month ago. I traded it off after 8 days. Absolutely hated it. Glad to be in a Tacoma.

I don't even see that many rangers in Detroit. They are quite ugly IMO, but I don't give much weight to looks. No 6' bed with 4 doors was a deal breaker for me when I looked into them before sticking with the Tacoma line.

Back seat of the new Ranger dbl cab doesn't fold down flat. Non starter and out of the running here. How they missed that feature is beyond me.
    Had a '79 F250 4WD Supercab that was a serious piece of machinery : ) It was stolen. : (
