I was re-reading the first post to check for any amendments/updates and thought it may be helpful to add all the available maps to ME in vF 1.2.7.0 because they are very different than those in the original post. I'm going to say it's ECU dependent but this is what they are for the 2021 MT (04C30).

Also, anyone on the fence about removing the accumulator (ADM) who hasn't - I did it last weekend and love it. It was worth the personal labour and 8 and change in parts (not counting the fluid I bought yesterday to top up and rebleed today). The truck is predictable and smooth and drives like any manual should IMO.

Looks like you have the new valve maps that are supposed to be coming in the next update

    oh? perhaps?

I know i'm definitely missing a few: the idle control come to mind as @tonered pointed out to me when he looked at them and I also seem to be missing the options for gears and tires which I did see you guys have. I'm hoping they come along when Mat has had proper time with this new ECU. I know he's incredibly busy doing a whole pile of things at once not to mention it's that time of year

    Thanks!

I will add that to the 1st Post for your ECU.

    Good stuff on the ADM.

you didn't have to do that! but i do hope it helps folks (on the newer MT ECUs?). from what I understand, most of you have pre-2019 trucks. It would be interesting to see how they all differ (the ECUs)

About a month back, I got my tune pack (04B91). Promptly flashed the super FOB premium. Very much an improvement over stock.

I drove that for about a week and a half while I pulled up the maps and added most of the tweaks in the first post (PTTT / airload / the woiks) to the super FOB prem tune.

Been driving that one for about two weeks now (about a hundred miles). So far, very impressed with the efforts of the community here.

The overall experience of the tune is very nice, reasonably smooth power application, no weird rpm or torque blips on gear change. Still a bit of misbehaviour during actual shifting, which means I probably need to get off my ass and do the ADM at some point (as soon as I can squeeze some free time from work :D).

I'm starting to study the maps and data, hopefully, I'll be able to start contributing a bit as well (most of y'all are far ahead of me there).

    That's great to hear.

At this point, I think a lot of us are sitting back and just watching you? Hahaha!

Mainly, I'm waiting on another version of vF with the DFCO and Rev Hang tweaks.

Also, if you have any desire to trade Tune Packs, please let me know! :hattip:

Matt has already built a tune for the dump tubes. Use that and tweak it to your preference.

It's really not that difficult. I've never touched an engine or anything similar even remotely close to this and it was easy. I had help, but none of it was anything I couldn't do myself (it was more in case I f*cked something up)
It's cheap, too. It cost me under 10 CAD. Everything I needed is in the ADM thread here. Give it a search if you haven't already

I have been playing with the first gear throttle map again.

The 2.0 file from OVtune is too aggressive. There is no throttle modulation for cruising and such. Everything is "accelerate accelerate"

My last file was pretty good, but still mostly "accelerate"

I dont always want to go full tilt when taking off, and like the lower throttle to be less aggressive.

Im currently on a map that does this, but feels fairly dead in the mid throttle range. low pedal is good, high pedal is aggressive (if you bury it from 2k rpm in first it will spin) but the middle range is basically the same as the low range.

Ill update when i find the money.

Is that the PTTTG1 map? And by cruising, do you mean maintaining cruising speed or cruise control?

I ask because I've been trying to find something that goes decently well from a standstill all the way through the ranges (like you) and have been struggling with what is likely the same problem. Going from a standstill now (using your collaborative efforts on a stock file) is leaps and bounds better than the stock tune but I find it's a bit dead for power in the 1-2k RPM range (doesn't matter which gear really).

I'm wondering if this crater shape is it? Based on my maths knowledge, I would figure given the three variables the crater shape is neutering it some?

I probably should wait for your response but I've been pondering these things (and others) for awhile now but haven't had the time to look into or test anything.Capture.jpg

this is what i have now. note i swapped to Regular fuel and this is based off REG SFOB now. (not that it matters)

I played with the throttle stuff a lot. I have ran with the primary table at all 0s and various other numbers and have come to the conclusion that it is more of a gain thing. A pedal commander if you will.

I put the factory one back in, and modified only a few numbers. It seems to be divided into an acceleration portion (diagonally top left to bottom right) and a cruising/deceleration.

The first gear map (the only one we have in 2.0 due to the throttle patch) is the biggest, most important changes to make. It is sensitive...very sensitive.

I took the factory first gear map (slow slow slow by itself) and put it in, i copied over the max values from 2.0 FOB to the far right column and started smoothing into the factory lower end. I have tried 4 different ones, each time pulling my CTRL I lower into the throttle band.

The ATRTA file, i made it all the same, but not linear. I dont want it to be different based on speed, but the linear one just seemed to act funny to me, a lot more rev hang? not sure.

The last one is the intake valves, you must update to the new version of VF for this to apply as the scaling is different. I feel that one of the largest causes for the laggy/steppy throttle has been the constant changes to VVT as you move from low to high load.

Anyway, this file has been fairly good if you ask me, but it is way different from 2.0 and will feel sluggish at first, until you realize you have to push the pedal to get the throttle.

Would you be willing to post up your current changes in a spreadsheet. I'm interested in what you've done. Like you mentioned the 2.0 tune is very acceleration dominant and I'd like to tame that down a little just haven't had time to putz with it myself.

Here ya go. The primary throttle is what im playing with now. the very first one in the map. which is different from what i posted earlier. I drove around with it for about 60 miles today with the wife and she even commented that it felt good (rare)

i did get one instance of a stumble around 2k rpm but i went from on throttle, to off throttle, back to on throttle due to another driver not driving well.

that does look quite different. i might try those settings to see exactly about what you are talking. i think i follow but i'd know for sure the difference if i loaded and drove it.
