    Hey everyone, new member here.
Long time lurker, first time posting.

I ordered the following winter rim/tire setup from Tirerack:

    16X8 GRANITE ALLOY GA640 with 265/70R-16 MICHELIN LATITUDE X-ICE XI2 SL

The rims have a 1 mm offset.

    I have a 2020 Tacoma access cab 4x4.

Here's the confusion. 3 of the rims came with a centering ring and 1 of them didn't. Tirerack customer service says I don't need the centering rings at all and the 3 that were sent were the mixup, not the one that is missing. But there are no techs over the weekend so they weren't 100% sure of that diagnosis.

Does anyone have experience with this setup? Do I need the centering rings? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt someone here will be able to definitively answer this. The rings are there so that Tirerack can use the same rim for different vehicles.
Best bet is to grab a tape measure and see whether the center holes in the rims match what’s on the truck. If the new ones are larger, you’ll need the adapters.

Centering rings aren't an absolute, they just assist the installation and ensure they are are true center. If you take your time installing the wheels there's no concern.

Personally I would only use them if there's a vibration, but xice are a really good tire, you'll be happy.

    Install them without the rings.

The aftermarket rims probably use a acorn style lug nut, which center the wheel. That said....unless the new rims have exactly a 106mm hub bore...which is very unlikely...it's still best to have the rings.

I would make sure they send you one. Until then...you're safe to run the wheels. Be sure to retorque the lugs after a couple of hundred miles or so.

I've ordered many wheel/tire combos from The Rack and have always gotten rings.

Ordered some for the wife’s ride back in the summer.

The lugs will center the wheel.

Just make sure the lug nuts are seated in the wheel, not pinching one side of the lug hole.

Thanks for all the help, much appreciated.
I spoke with a tech at Tirerack and he said that I shouldn't use the rings for a Tacoma.
I should toss the 3 centering rings I have and mount the rims without them.
