As far as wiring for power.
The two Power Outlet fuses under the dash are switched and cut power when the truck is off.

Two “power outlet” fuses down there that are each 15A are both ignition switched.

Absurd on 2021 TRD OR that one has to pay $4,500 for the heated leather seats, upgraded JBL stereo, sun roof and additional tech / cameras. I just want the heated seats and the upgraded stereo? Unreasonable that Toyota cannot itemize these upgrades or create a smaller bundle. I would imagine that 80% of the buyers in the US would like the heated seats. First had heated seats in a 2002 Volvo. Currently five drivers and five vehicles in our family and only our 2002 Chevy Suburban lacks heated seats. My wife's current Volvo has a heated steering wheel! With the $4,500 - $5,000 premium / advanced technology package one is damn near the price of a TRD Pro!

I think there is a lesser option that has cloth heated seats.

Only in the manual transmission trucks, weirdly enough. The autos only have heated seats if you get the premium package with leather, moonroof, jbl, nav, etc

These are only 2 settings heat low and high? With the switch a 3wAy (high off low)? I’m thinking of the rostra 5 setting as the same in the install videos.

anyone take note into rostra install note that not recommended to install with seats auto airbag sensor because of interference? Anyone with issues doing the passenger side.

Here in Canada even SRs get heated cloth seats.

This thread has been super helpful.

A friend of mine gave me a heated seat kit that he never installed on his SR5, then he upgraded to a TRD trim that came with heated seats. The buttons on his kit were the cheap 3 position rounds, and I wanted the more OEM look of the switches in this thread, so I bought just the switches on Ebay. However, the cheapo switches only have 4 wire connections, whereas these have 6 pins in the back. Any ideas on how I can make these work with the kit I have? I've reached out to the seller on Ebay to see if he has a wiring diagram for the switches, but no luck so far.

Sales tactic. Most people only want one thing in the package, but to get it, you need to get everything else. I knew I didn't want a sunroof (that's the expensive one in the package) so F it. I researched and knew I could do the seats if I wanted them, but I went from leather down to cloth...honestly, haven't had a desire so less switches and electricals, the better.

I just installed a heated seat kit that came with that OEM looking switch. The wire harness that it came with had (2) relays per per switch Which I thought was odd. I think the connector for the switch only used 5 wires. Here's a pic from the back of the switch. Hope this helps.

The 2 relays should be for High and Low

If it’s 1 relay per switch, then wouldn’t it be the relay provides power for each switch individually rather then 1 relay for low 1 for high. Did the kit you linked above include 2?

I think it’s actually a good idea to relay each seat/switch separately. In case of fault they aren’t connected

Thanks for the pictures of the correct harness for the OEM style switch. I heard back from the ebay seller of the switch with the wiring diagram and I don't see any easy way I'll be able to make my kit work with those switches, so I went ahead an ordered the full kit and the ebay seller gave me a $20 dollar credit. :spending:

If anyone needs replacement switches in the future, let me know.

The OEM style switch has an extra set of contacts because the switch lights up when the dash lights are on.

I got 2 sets of the Doorman 628-040 heated seat elements to do driver and passenger seats. I didn't see anyone else comment on setting these to come on with remote start, but that is my plan. If anyone happens to know what fuse is key switched and comes on with remote start... once I find that I can switch the seat button ON when I get out and it will activate only after starting. Best I can tell max current draw is 5A each seat set so I will power both seats through a 10s delay relay rated for 30A to be gentile on the battery during those cold starts.

Why not just turn them on when you get out of the truck? Before I get out I flip my seat on and heater up.

FWIW its possible that the floor harness in the non-heated seat US configs might have all the wiring for factory heated seats. The controls seem integrated with dual-zone climate that all the 2021 V6 have. Someone with better Toyota part diagram fu could probably figure this out. Heating elements + climate control panel with seat heater controls and done?

I want to do this, but hook it up to a raspberry pi for monitoring temp. If it's cold out, kick them on automatically.
