I noticed that also with the airload charts. I was watching my ignition timing advance for #1, my numbers were really low in low 20's and teens at times especially under heavy loads. I wasn't as aggressive as Moose's but close. I changed my 5th gear lock/unlock once and my numbers differently weren't correct, truck dropped to 4th to climb the hill and would never leave so I gave up and never messed with those again till I know more. I just changed to Matt's 2.0 premium_THX_4.88's to give it a try, MPG defiantly coming back up.

Just updated to 1.2.7.5 and am now getting this error when I try to open my files:

    upload_2020-12-18_21-56-5.jpg

Anyone else have this issue? I had this file open not 15 minutes ago on vF Tuner version 1.2.7.0.

Yes, I got the same error after installing 1.2.7.5 this morning. I didn’t know what the problem could so instead of mucking around I went back to .7.0

TBH, I don’t know what’s in the update that’s any different or better than 1.2.7.0. It was an update so I installed it.

I got the error when I tried to open a 04A61 tune file. Didn’t try any others.

That's odd. I installed 1.2.7.5 as well and have zero issues opening my 04C30 files.

Perhaps it’s only affecting 04A61 files.

I feel silly. Now I understand what you mean that this is the stock settings. It seems that there are different versions of identical tunes, one is editable (for vftuner - .vft) one is non-editable (for ovtune toyota flash manager - .p5f).

The link in the email from Matt seems to be the base editable vftuner file for my ECU...else why is it downloaded separately and not in the vftuner files already? Since I have vftuner do I even need to mess with ovtune TFM?

I tried to download a file using the ovtune TFM program but it keeps giving me an error, not sure what is wrong:

    ovt-down-err.jpg

Also, in vftuner when I select a file to flash it wants to use 4 of the 5 credits to open that file. Does that mean I won't be able to open any other of those same ECU files without buying more credits? I thought the credits were for different ECU IDs? Is the file highlighted below the one I want to use?

Silly thought, but is it possible it opened behind any other open windows and is just hidden?

OR perhaps your Windows Defender quarantined it and didn't give you an alert, this happened to me and I had to tell it to always allow.

The files that come with vf tuner are the stock files. The files you get from zendesk are the editable 2.0 files for your requested ecu

flash manager is no longer used nor are p5 files.

credits unlock the ecu id, you can open any files that are that ID. If you want to open other IDs, then you purchase additional credits.

5 credits come with vF, 1 for vF itself and 4 to allow you to unlock one ecu.

That's interesting. Those tables were modified to fix high gear low rpm issues.

Have those returned with your new findings?

What's 1.2.7.5 all about? Is that the big update? Somehow I always get missed on the notification. Signed up 20 times. :notsure:

Can we change the high idle surge at startup with vftuner? @Chadr7858 was having the same issue.

I updated to 1.2.7.5 no issues when I flashed my 04B04 ecu. The only difference I seen was there was a ecu flash tab to the right of the toyota flash manager tab. It doesn't work yet so maybe getting ready for the big update.

This seems to be an issue exclusively with 04A61, we are working on it.

Well, I flashed Super FOB Reg OL with this output:

    superFOBflashTruckECUsuccess!.jpg

And then I took it for a drive. After 97.1 miles of non-stop "testing", lots of throttle play, I got home and shut it off and saw I got 19.7MPG!! My usual is about 18.1MPG so this new tune gave me peppier response and better mileage?! Just. Wow. Too bad Toyota doesn't buy these tunes for all of their vehicles prior to shipment. Now I guess I can make the AGM battery charge voltage changes to a COPY of this tune file for my not-yet-installed house battery and then reflash?

Yes. Export file, rename, and then make changes.
