I know the feeling! I’m going with a hc bumper with swing out so it just expedited the process.7A1573E8-D848-467C-9409-C9B58B7927FD.jpg

Just take off the cap and pop it out with some elbow grease and warm water. That is what I did to mine, until I went steel.

Thanks for the tip bud! Going high clearance steel here soon, so I’ll just let it ride for a bit.

Built a aluminum rack for the cap. I wanted to order from Prinsu again, but couldn't justify it when I knew I could build it. I ordered aluminum extrusion from T nutz.
I would recommend them. They shipped REALLY fast. I got an email from customer service after they shipped saying they had only tapped one end of the extrusions, when I had asked for
both sides. They sent me the tap express with no charge. Good customer service. Good product.

Drilled the 1/4" aluminum side rails with a unibit, so nothing is perfect, but its pretty damn good for a days' work. I cut the round ends with a jigsaw and sanded to 'match' the Prinsu.
T-bolt hardware mounted to an aluminum L bracket and the roof rails. I'll paint it black...eventually.

I carry a lot of lumber, ladders for work, and I wanted a long platform. Very happy overall. It cost me less than $ 200.00.

Thanks dude. I don't often work with aluminum/metal, so it was a bit of a challenge. But it worked out great.

I’d say you nailed it on the head pretty good! I love good diy work. More satisfying imo!

Absolutely. I tend to rush though my personal projects, to get back to actual work...but it is rewarding when someone says, "sick rack, Where'd you get it" and you can say...I built it.

I always offer to drop her off first. She doesn’t usually take me up on it unless it’s raining or really cold out, but eliminates any questions.

Sometimes I’ll circle near towards an open spot near the front making it seem like I’ll pull right into it then last second, “yeah right!!”. Love her reaction. She will never understand haha
