I always offer to drop her off first. She doesn’t usually take me up on it unless it’s raining or really cold out, but eliminates any questions.

Sometimes I’ll circle near towards an open spot near the front making it seem like I’ll pull right into it then last second, “yeah right!!”. Love her reaction. She will never understand haha

I do that too; meet her in the store and then get an ear full when we’re walking to the car. :D

I have a cap on order and am trying to decide on rack setup. I also carry lumber (and surfboards). If you could do it over again would you build the cab rack as well? Or does the present problems in the mounting to the factory channel?

“We wouldn’t be walking so far if parked closer, it’s this cold out and you still parked this far, it’s raining and you parked this far, this is dangerous you know, did you really park all the way out there, there’s plenty of spot right near here...”

I always say, “look, all we have to do is walk an extra 15 seconds and we significantly lowered our chances getting a door ding from a careless packed car of kids” her response: “still don’t care”

I'm very happy with the Prinsu. I really just didn't want to spend the money again. The cab rack is nice because it contours the roof line of the truck. The design is nice.

I debated bringing my aluminum rails to my laser cutter (which I should have done) to exactly match the prinsu. But I got lazy and cut it myself.
The only real difference is the mounting. The prinsu mounts to the factory threaded holes. No room for error when drilling your hardware. The rack on the cap mounts to the Thule rails, which are
basically extruded plastic. You can drop a T nut in and slide it up and down. More room to allow for little mistakes.
You could definitely build front and back in a few days if you have the know how.

ah yes the potential Achilles heal. Luckily I have never found the tipping point but it’s always on my mind

This is the best photo we have of the truck going side hill, I done quite a bit more of a tilt than this. Notice the BP-51 suspension in action despite having Helwig anti-sway bars.

this one I remember, I knew this was going to cause some puckering as it was a rock shelf crossing the trail at a 45 degree angle. Touched my aluminium skid plate on this one

Sucks to hear that. same thing happened to me on New Years Day, Got rear ended by a sketch that didnt have insurance. I found a replacement on Amazon. I paid $50 but it was 2 years ago. Color match was good for my silver sky metallic. Good luck.
