Agree with all of that. I definitely read more when camping than at home. I usually don't go to bed until 1 or 2am at home. Camping in winter it is much earlier. Seldom do campfires for same reason.

Most of my trips are for mountain biking. Since I usually stay up late I'll often sleep in a bit when its cold in the morning which means a late start riding. Then I'll catch sunset and ride for a while in the dark. Helps take up some of the evening time. If I finish at 7 or 8 there isn't that much time left after I have dinner and a beer. Doesn't work for everyone but I like night riding.

Frustrating for sure. Cindy did say they are working on some new configurations which will now get worked into the production mix. Hopefully those are people who ordered before and they are staying true to sequence. She did say that when a production slot comes up they simply schedule the next customer they are able to outfit.

My guess is they got a lot more orders in Sept than they did in August so the delay we're seeing is just them working through that excess of orders. Our sheet shows 7 in July/Aug and 14 from Sept 1-Oct 1. So if they had say 30 total orders in Aug and the 2:1 ratio holds giving them 60 in Sept, one unit completed per day would take them 3 months to work through all the Aug/Sept orders. With early-ish units going out in late Nov and December 3 months takes us into late Feb which is about what she's now quoting. That doesn't explain how someone behind you gets installed ahead but there could be circumstances we're not aware of.

Yeah, it's all good. This is one of those years where your stuck at home a lot so the eagerness to get it and get out is high. When I ordered Spencer said they had around 50 ordered and there are at least another 20 after me. Curious to see what other configurations or if they are just referring to other models. Part of our delay for sure is that we were trying to get 3 of us in at the same time (we all ordered at the same time) but naturally we get all the fun. a 3rd gen, 2nd gen, and 1st gen. The later 2 having redesigns or config that is not ready for GA yet.

Was looking forward to a year-end trip up there even if it was a short one.

I’ll try and see if it does, but I was up in there looking at it yesterday and I don’t see that being possible. Also, even if it was, you’d have all the tent material hanging down into your bed when closed

No it doesn't. Roaming Lost has a pic of it somewhere in some thread or on Instagram. The two rear filler panels are for using as a bed side table, so to speak.

I feel the same as about a thousand reviewers on REI and everywhere else, it's amazing! I bought one a few months ago for my RTT and it is better than anything I've ever had, by leaps and bounds. I've already cleared with Spencer that he can leave mine out of my build and charge me a little less since I already have one.

The mattress is awesome, I got one to replace the shitty mattress in my GFC. It’s great for cold camping as the internal foam holds your body heat instead of it getting sucked away like in a traditional air mattress. It’s thick enough that you can sleep on your side without getting hard spots from poking through.

It’s a pain to inflate fully by hand but so far I’ve been too lazy to grab the air hose from the compressor and just mindlessly pumped while drinking a beer. Deflation is easy, pull the cap, ignore it for a while, then fold in half twice and lay on it.

One note is read the instructions about preparation, they recommend you fully inflate it prior to first use for 24 hours so the foam can fully expand and make future uses easier.

    Just the basics
Exped makes inflation bags which makes it much easier. That is of course after you let it self inflate as much as possible.

I replaced the mattress in my Vagabond with this Exped as well. I can leave it inflated and close the drifter, so with the X-1 seemingly a few inches thicker, you should be able to do the same.

Starting my trek up to Portland tomorrow, for my install on Monday. If anyone has any unanswered questions for the SP team send em over and I’ll try to get them answered.

If there are any 2nd gen’s present I need to know the clearance tent to can still and how far it extends if you can gather that info.

Yes you can close it with the mattress inflated, but not with bedding. I have just been rolling around on top of it with the valve open to deflate it a little. I keep a sleeping bag and a woobie up there no problem this way

With the extra section that the bed does not cover can you stack any bedding there? At least a portion?

I’d be able to tell you if I had it, but I don’t. I currently pull the large section to the back of the camper to keep the tent from coming down. I surmise you can keep *some* bedding in that space, but the tent will also fall in that space as well

I’m asking them for the two separate sections to put back there, I don’t want the telescoping perforated thing they’ve been talking about. I plan on cutting the two sections to fit perfectly on either side of my roof fan, so it’ll be boxed in on three sides

What does everyone have planned for their X1’s? Let’s get some ideas flowing outside of all the where’s my X1, myself included hahaha

I’m looking forward to moving my fridge from the backseat to the bed. Accessing form the side is key here. Also excited to have the full UTE style side doors.

Panning to rework some electrical and possibly update my solar setup and add an inverter among other goodies.

debatable on a heater. It’s a cool idea but not a Jesse city for most of the year.

What is this telescoping deal? I was expecting full pieces as you noted.
