Many years ago she had a similar pie that she bought at Millers Smorgasboard on route 30 in East Lancaster. She liked it so much she decided to make one on her own. She refined it by using 5 different kinds of apples and then a pinch of this and that and fresh cranberries and walnuts. It tastes a bit different each time she makes it, but it always taste good.

The pie looks yummy. Been to Miller’s numerous times. Great food. My wife use to take me there every time we traveled back to Pa. Lancaster. I assume due to Covid it’s probably closed down and not reopen.

Millers as well as other restaurants are still open (except until January 4th according to the governors rule) using a one way pass down the buffet line. It is amazing how many places have adapted to the rules and many couldn't and had to close down. I just hope and pray this covid ends soon so everyone can put their lives back together and move on.

Good morning everyone!! Still waiting for our Covid test results - hoping to see it today in time to get our Christmas tree. 25 degrees warmer this morning than yesterday - the dogs weren't in as much of a hurry to get back in the house when I walked them at 4.

Enjoy the day and be safe!!

    Morning.
So got the last of the snowblower collection (aka roadside pickups) running and yesterday
Had a couple that just bought a house I know stop buy. Moving in just before New Years
And with this blizzard they are in trouble .lol
So I arranged to get help and load it in their truck and surprise them.
Needs a little more TLC but it runs. And he has some smarts.
    C10B1C4A-785D-4890-B350-76009F89D01E.jpg
They were very happy needless to say

So now my storage area is empty.
I have no more blowers to repair.
    I’m going through withdrawals lol.

I’m sure I’ll find a few before the season is over.

Got two calls before the storm hit that their blowers were broken.
I asked when did they break
    The last storm they said.
Nope, your loss. Had 10 days and a free weekend to putter around with them
And now you want it fixed yesterday?

    Enjoy your day all.
Coffee smells real good right now.
    Gonna git me sum..

    Good morning folks.
Giving the new folks a snow blower was a great thing to do Mike. Most folks give a cake or bottle of wine as a welcome gift, but your gift top them all  I am sure they will really appreciate having it before spring comes.

Terrific video Harry. Thanks for posting. With what is happening with the covid and kids not in school or having their friends to play with they needed a lift in Christmas spirit. Let's hope Santa makes everyone's Christmas a good one.

    it didn’t cost me anything.
    Few hours of labor.
    Why not..
I had 6 at the house at one time.
My 3 have been overhauled and serviced.

I surely hope not Mike. People should not be rewarded for their own stupidity or lack of common sense. If only people would realize the web they weave by all of the frivolous lawsuits, maybe (that's a big maybe) we would have more folks doing good deeds.

Years ago I’d think nothing of letting something go but now I can’t take that chance.
Cust threatens to sue you cause her new car had a defective spark plug for pain and suffering
    and creating so much drama.
Can’t wait to retire and tell them all to go to hell.

Lazy morning. My sister and her hubby are visiting later, I think the plan is to stand outside and chat.

Aaaannnddddddd I'm back in the comfy chair. Fresh logs in the stove, a couple of my dad's favorite cookies to munch on. My sister makes them just like our grandmother did, and they remained dad's favorite right up to the end of his days.

It's been a difficult, challenging year. I'm blessed to have family to share in the work of getting through it.

    Morning all:
Hear you about people filing frivolous lawsuits, trouble is that they sometimes receive compensation for their own stupidity and then others see an avenue for free money!
We all know about the hot coffee at McDonalds, but a couple years ago a guy sued Subway because their advertised foot long subs were only 11 3/4" long, then there was a guy who pulled another guy out of a wreck where the car was on fire, he got sued with the claim that he injured the crash victim further by pulling him out of the burning car!
I've read about a lot of frivolous lawsuits over the years, most involve totally ridiculous nonsense that shouldn't even make it to a court or involve any type of compensation!
