    Also, since I haven’t been seeing deer in the woods the last couple weeks, we went to Cade’s cove in Tn to see a few studs. There weren’t many out today. Saw 23 total our first trip through the loop. Only a few good bucks.

    Another thing: what binos do you guys use? The wife bought me some Nikon prostaff3 binos that seem to be extremely nice glass without breaking the bank.

    I picked up Vortex Diamondback HDs on sale last year. Good glass that's wallet friendly.

    If my bank account was endless I'd run Leica for binos and rangefinder.

    How worried do I have to be about taping up the antlers? should I try to get it watertight with electrical tape or something?

    In all honesty, I'm not super worried about it because 90% of the color on the antlers is mud, and worst case I can spear some back on probably and make it look halfway decent.

    I've found that brown paste shoe polish applied liberally and wiped away after a ten minute rest tends to restore lost color.

    Last day in New York today for anyone out there with a muzzle loader or archery equipment. 83 days o_O season way too long and you can kill 2 bucks and 2 does in most places .
