Would be very curious to know how well the OTR works after you've used it for a while. I'm interested in adding one to my setup.

If I were to get one, I would likely mount it to the rear of the lid on an adjustable angle mount so when the lid is open, it's the highest thing out there and not getting blocked by any of the giant faraday cage that the Drifter is. There should be enough room to mount and run the cable along the inside of the lid between the tent and the outside up to the front where the hinges are and then route it from there.

@joeydurango the couple times we have used it it has done well, boosted one bar to four, and she has been able to run her computer off that.

@JasonLee that would be the most ideal but we also need it whilst driving too, going to try a hood antenna mount, into the cab via under drivers seat, then we can use in the cab but when in camp could run the antenna cable out the rear door and possibly use it outside (via a portable power source) - we shall see how it goes. def having the antenna lower may be a problem, or we may have to face the truck up in certain situations, or give up and move the antenna - i saw someone use ram ball mount's to quickly make spots to move antenna around

Be careful where you mount it while it's on. I think the manual says to ensure it is something like 8 or 18" from any human when it's on and amplifying. It probably exceeds the FCC limits of radio waves exposed to humans within that range, so I wouldn't want it near my head for long while it is on.

I have the same idea for my Drifter. I was able to get the WeBoost off a group but, just waiting on the rack to get made before I can run it like you have in the first picture. Good to hear it works while driving because that's our intent as well!

yeah we only 'soft' mounted it like that when at camp, i have it on a hood mount now, will see how that works

im torn between what works driving and what will work whilst camped. i guess that like everything thou, some compromise

Just caught up on this thread after several months away from TW.

With COVID and working purely from home for the foreseeable future, I decided in July to move into my Drifter and go nomad for a while.
Starting in late August, I did 10 straight weeks all over the West, and then was ready for a break - really only because working 10-11 hour days in the camper during winter daylight hours just sucks. No way around that...

But overall, no real complaints or issues with the Drifter through that whole process.
One trick I found for windy conditions though - If your tent walls have enough slack in them for wind to get annoying, grab one of those cargo spreader bars (Harbor Freight or whatever), and use it to push the tent walls out. Not with too much force, of course, but it makes a huge difference!

Spending some time with family at the moment, but I finally installed the diesel heater I've had sitting around for over a year, so I plan on getting back out soon.

This is exactly how I've got my WeBoost setup, and it's great.
I have to work through a remote desktop, so the connection is crucial for me, and I wanted to be sure I had the best possible signal reception.
I made sure to set it up in such a way that the antenna could be deployed while driving, but I have it in a long mast config and would want to shorten it for use while driving, which is just too much of a hassle to do unless I absolutely needed to.
