I got started on the bed rack today. I wanted the rails low (~4” above the bed rails) and I wanted the flat part that the tent sits on narrow, narrower than the tent by a couple of inches on both sides. This will make it easier to work the zipper on the rtt, and also allow me to reach in the bed with ease.

I did not take into account that once I cut the bars to sit on the bedside, they’re too long. So, I cut it vertically. Basically instead of being on top of the bed rails, they will be inside the bed rails. A little unorthodox, but it’ll still be plenty strong since it will be tied into the frame too. The top of the tube ultimately end up sitting only ~3” higher than the bed rails.

Thanks, I’m extremely happy with how it came out. It came out better than I ever pictured it. Hopefully the rest of the rack is the same.

Normally these rigid chase lights go for $220 but Amazon warehouse had an open box for $150 so I decided to hop on that. I think it’ll look pretty slick as a third brake light. I was originally going to buy the Baja designs rtl-s but after thinking about it more, there are other things I’d rather spend $400 on.

Got my RTL off the scratch and dent thread here on TW. Its a good light, but those rigids are nice for the form factor.

I'm a have to see if they're more. I wanted one after seeing Adam's.

They’re pretty slick, and I like that I’ll be able to just clamp it to the tube of the bed bar.

That looks really good Randall. When do you paint it purple? And lastly, when are we starting the rear tube bumper to make the universe complete again?

Ask @boogie3478 if he ever installed the one I sold him like 2 years ago. Amazon dropped down to like $150, I bought one and then sold it to Brian since I couldn’t figure out a way to make it work with my softopper.

Ouch...all 3 of mine have slept through the night at a few weeks old. The last two my wife actually set an alarm and woke up to feed them because our first was such a good sleeper he was super tiny. So we were more diligent with the last two. Our third was the only one of the bunch to get back to his birth weight by his two week appt.
