The motor mounts *shouldnt* affect the turbo placement but *may* affect clearances

When I tried to put a straight coupler it was hitting the oil fill neck, no go.
    4C21441B-FDEB-4575-93F4-F01A9FA5E372.jpg

Switched to a 45° and I got it to work. The silicone coupler has to be pressed up(and formed)against the full neck. Tip: put a rubber cap over the bolt threads so it doesn’t chew into the coupler

This much clearance looks correct. on the couplers we provide it's only 2inch until the 90* it doesn't / shouldn't be rubbing against the threads

I haven't ingested enough coffee so am trying to understand specifically what this means.. are you saying that the motor mounts should not affect the distance between the oil filler neck and the turbo (since they're both directly mounted on the engine) but could affect distances/clearances from fenders and such? TIA

    Right.
    engine > manifold > turbo.

it shouldn't change location of the turbo even if the engine was outside of the truck.

But as far as motor mounts, does the engine sit in an identical position relative to the frame? that I don't know.

I’m glad mines a ‘17. Hopefully three isn’t variations between trims.

might just be tolerance stacking and only affect certain trucks regardless of year.

is yours a TRD pro, or Off Road or....

because the clearance on your pics looks exactly like it should.

trying to piece together what differences there could be.

Meso’s has a DCLB so def not a pro, likely a Sport or Offroad.
Is it possible that there are variances on the manifold themselves, more specifically the mating surfaces, especially if there were sanded on something like a belt sander, maybe causing some to be angled + -
a degree or two, and depending how much you tighten down at the top and lower bolts it will add to the problem. I just can’t see the engine being any different due to variants between trim models.

Yeah the casting could have tolerance on the mating flange.(or where it was faced off). A degree off down low could equate to a larger shift up top where the snail is. I highly doubt the block/ensigns mounts/frame are different across the models

Right, I dont see there being that much difference. I mean toyotas can't have tolerances that far off.

it could be the picture / angle but the area marked in red should have enough clearance that you can easily fit your finger through it no problem. if it doesn't then something needs adjusted or checked.

We are happy to do as much tuning and dialing in as necessary for your individual setup and logs. Dialing in @Bigetaco22s here.

NOTE*** even if you plan on not increasing boost, or anything, if you have full / aftermarket exhaust then custom tuning is **required** it makes a big difference on flow.

We spent the last 3 hours dialing this truck in after installing my boost gauge today. Went from figuring out idling issues to full on full throttle pulls from 3k to 6k. Many logs. Many pulls. Truck pulls insanely hard in boost. Boost is super controllable, but when you need it, it is right there. The turbo noises are so much fun.
