The only G class I’ll be taking on trails is this one. Others are only good for malls
Now off to obtaining mortgage for this one:spending::evil:

That dealer has a rather eclectic mix of vehicles, from a $7000 Mazda2 to the Brabus monstrosity. It's only 9 minutes away from my workplace! :anonymous:

Yeah, every time I try to justify a G, I find it really hard to do it except if you want just to show people that you have a G.

You pay more than double for a used 15yr machine, parts and maintenance probably 25-50% higher.

Maybe worth it for the show off factor and to use it as mall crawler.

The machine I would like to see more often around is the new Nissan armada, but it's still too new to be seen on the trails.

Yeah I was considering the hot dip too. Just comes down to cost, weight and durability. Issue is you can usually only get two of the above lol.

A friends 4runner almost stolen this week. He had an aftermarket alarm which scared the thieves off but not before they drilled out the door lock.
Then his friends 2021 tacoma was stolen.

Hold on to your junk. Any good anti theft ideas?

A club is a good visual deterent...a kill switch or pulling the fuel pump relay always works.

He has the steering wheel thing. That did not help.
His 5th gen 4runner is busy. Lots of offroad accessories and 33's so I'm surprised. I always thought thiefs want stock vehicles.

Middle east appreciates when it's a turn key vehicle. So here is that, but yes, those 4Runners can be stolen under 5 minutes. My 5th gen Limited disappeared in a snap couple years ago. I am still waiting for them to come back after Tacoma, I even leave door open sometimes...:anonymous:

Since you don't have a smart key with push-button start, a significant vulnerability is already avoided. Manual transmission is also a significant deterrent :p

The other things to do would be a few devices like a steering wheel club, pedal lock, secret kill switch (e.g. toggle switch hidden under the shifter boot). Individually they aren't secure, but together they waste time and increase hassle.

A simple in line fuel secret switch can solve all your problems, except when thieves bring tow truck. German Sheppard your best bet then, but no vehicle is worth all the hassle after going with the court/police/thieves lawyers. Unless you know good spots at Ardbeg, where not many people can reach (North past the rail tracks:boink::anonymous:), just don't use my spots :spy:
