I don’t think OU leapfrogs aTm, and I don’t think ND drops out (they’ll claim they made the ACC championship game and already beat Clemson once, which is absolute horse shit).

Florida looks horrible.. and it’s glorious.

 

If anything is clear, it’s Alabama, Clemson, and everyone else.

ND will get in due to their large national following but A&M is better. They won't want two SEC teams in.

Bama will destroy ND if ND is 4 after being undressed by Clemson. Clemson will beat Ohio State.

And we have a rematch, again, of Clemson and Bama.

Both teams can score. Alabama has some weaknesses on D... UF proved that. Alabama will be able to exploit some weaknesses on Clemson's D. It's a chess match like usual between these two but you have to love the extra juice of Sarkisian vs Venables. Good on good right there. IMO, the best offensive scheme in college football with studs at QB, RB and WR verse the best defensive coordinator in the country and is nearly perfect with extra time to prepare.

 

Yep, that's the way I see it too. No matter who #3 and #4 are, it will be Bama vs Clemson in the NC game...again.

 

Absolute trash. Bring the BCS back because at least we knew what to expect.

 

Once again, i will not watch a single bowl game, especially the “playoffs.”

This system sucks, and the strong will only get stronger as a result, leading to the same BS next year.
Expand the playoffs to at least 8 teams.

 

Why not 64, just do away with the regular season.

 

keep it 4, but find a new way to choose those 4 teams. Or expand to 6 (5 champs, 1 at large). 8 is too many and makes the games mean less.

But, speaking of games meaning less: No way ND deserves to be in after being skullfucked in their championship game and their only good win coming against a team without 3 starters on defense and one of the top 3 QBs in the nation. OSU doesn’t deserve it because their opponents before the championship game wrre 14-19, and they haven’t passed the “eye test” against the only 2 teams they’ve played with winning records. And Fields has 2 TD and 5 INT in those 2 games. They played consecutive Saturdays once this season, which means they had at least 2 weeks to prepare for every game but 1. Fuck everything about OSU. Give me Bama, Clemson, Cincy, and....aTm? OU? Coastal Carolina? Anyone but ND and OSU.

 

6-8, no autos, and quit factoring history / rep (because we wouldn’t have OSU or ND if that wasn’t a thing this year..).

There’s no benefit to the CFP. We get two play in games and watch teams that should be in (UCF, UC) get fucked because ESPN ruined college football.

 

Does anyone really believe theses Cinderella teams that pop up every year could play a SEC schedule each week and remain undefeated? We go through this every year.

Does anyone want to see Northern Utah Poly Tech line up and play Alabama in the playoffs.

Maybe in this new world of "Social Justice" every team should be in the playoffs. Why not...we have teams this year at 3-7 going to bowl games.

 

Not convinced aTm, UF, or UGA are good enough to consistently score points to compensate for the total lack of defense.

 

CC wouldn't beat most SEC schools

So you're saying AM, UF and UGA should be in the playoffs before CC. Doesn't that take the playoffs past 8 spots? What about BYU, do they still belong in? Only one lose to an undefeated team.

 

UF lost to a really horrible LSU squad, and only dropped one place in the rankings? We knew the rankings are full of crap.

If I was king for a day, would limit the playoff to the four highest ranked conference champions. If a G5 slips in there, then they get a slot. At least then we would see some new blood.

But lets face it, there are only two teams with a legitimate shot at the title again this year, Bama and Clemson. Everyone else is just a poser...and that includes aTm.

 

Since everyone is throwing out their 2cents on the playoffs, here's mine.
The BCS was BS and the Playoffs are better.
Are 4 teams enough???? maybe, maybe not, I would say not and say 6 or 8 teams would be better being the other Bowl games are becoming more meaningless after every season now.

My thoughts for wanting a larger field of teams: you could loose a game earlier in the season and get to the point where said team is arguably one of the top 4 teams.
Think NFL and the year that a wild card NY Giants defeated an undefeated New England team in the Super bowl. It was unimageable, but yet it happened. who to say a 1 loss non conference champion (power 5 or not) doesn't get hot late in the year and is indeed the best team in the nation at the time of the Playoffs?
we will probably never have to hear about a non power 5 team cry and self proclaim themselves as the National Champions like UCF.
More revenue for college football (as if its not already a cash cow)
More football for us and hopefully it will bring intriguing matchups that we probably wouldn't get any other way (lets just say most of the other bowl games match ups are questionable a lot of the time).

One could also argue that if you want in the top 4, then take care of all of your business all season long. That to is a very valid point.

At the end of the day I believe ND being in this year is pathetic after they just got raped in their title game. Ohio state is in bc of name sake

NCAA/college football will do what ever is best for their checkbooks at the end of the day. Maybe they will expand the field maybe they wont.
But its always a topic of conversation for us fans.
