Trophy truck inspired. At least in my head. Very capable.

That's awesome. I still need to build the front and rear skids on mine. As well as get the front bumper built and chop the cross member off. Would love a closer look at what you did for the front skid!

Did you do anything to beef up the frame horns where that bumper attaches to? Mine are bent to shit from winch pulls and just front driving around with the weight of the bumper there where Toyota only intended for a crash bar

Yes there is a new crossmember that ties the front frame rails together and then tubes that come up from the LCA crossmember to triangulate the entire front frame

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
Harry wasn't looking so I snuck into the shop and borrowed *his* new baja truck for the holidays...

    PXL_20201219_231600499.jpg

Smashed a rutted out road with +12" potholes...no drama...all good. Steering rack and pump is sublime. Gonna have to get used to actually driving and not countering the bouncy house suspension that was on it before. Worth the wait, every penny and then some.

If anyone is on the fence about JD products and services...get off yer ass and get it done.

You'll need to rebuild it. I used 3/4" hardware when I rebuilt mine. I think my frame horn redo will be the next add to my build thread, thanks for the reminder..

Yeah that’s what I was referring to. Mine haven’t cracked yet like in your first pic but is just a matter of time. 1/4” plate I assume?

How about a whole new rolling chassis with TTB front end, 6.0 LS, 4L80, Atlas and Currie Rock Jock 60.

Chop it off from the cross member forward. Replace all the crumple zone with tube.

Then buy the @81Trekker kit to fix the underlying problem.

The LCA cam tab fix kit (already exists) and the bumper support kit I suspect is coming. Especially if two of you are already in for the group buy.

Still don’t know what you’re talking about.

look inside the red circle. Those are the OEM attachment points which are the problem. Maybe not so much for that truck bc that bumper looks to be aluminum and has no winch

The entire bumper bolts to the new front crossmember using 3/4” bolts. The OE attachment points do noting on this truck

But they’re still there and look to be in use unless that pic is old. Anyway, I think a lot of us would love to see more pics of that. I love how that came out! Wanna do that to my pelfry hybrid bumper
