Check tire air pressure. I bet you’re driving on summer air. Winter air needs to be used in tires during the winter in order to achieve maximum gas mileage.

oh I believe it haha. I commute mostly 59/99/i-10/sw bw8. Traffic moves decently. Plenty of drivers driving under speed limit on left. Houston is a frustrating place to drive lol

Previous owner records show a TB cleaner performed by a Toyota dealer 20k ago.....
How deep do you think the dealer goes.....just a little spray?
And how long do you think it will last......how often do TACO owners clean TBs?

While warmer/summer air might be lighter, than winter/colder air......tire psi is about pressure and the right psi listed on the door frame is year around.

I would guess the average Tacoma owner never cleans the MAF & TB let alone even know what it is.

Here's my last 9 fillups and the mpg. You can tell when the winter gas shows up even with warmer air. When you add really cold air and longer warmups it drops even more (this is also because tire air pressure drops in colder weather). Most of my driving is around town and rarely above 45 mph but there are a couple of longer trips with 60-65 mixed in.
    16.373
    17.212
    16.864
19.948 (this was mostly highway with some stop lights mixed in)
    17.358
    17.125
19.623 (this was a run to the beach so more highway with beach traffic mixed)
    15.728
    15.335

Edit: Definitely check your tire pressure this time of year. We got down to 9 degrees the other night and today I checked and mine were at 26.5 lbs so I pumped them up to 33. That will affect your mpg just like the winter gas and colder air.

They could well have cleaned it, but that was then this is now. Definitely a wise idea though

unless you have replaced the tires with something different than stock, then read the sidewall.

If you are suggesting that people should run the maximum inflation listed on the tire, that is incorrect.

The tire pressure listed on the door is based on GAWR and should be followed unless the tires are replaced with a different sized and/or load range. In that case, the tire pressure calculator linked earlier in this thread can be used to find the proper pressure for their new tires.

Other tires besides stock may be rated differently.

That’s NOT what I wrote about......it was about getting LESS MPG after spark plug, Coil reburbish, PCV change......MPG should have IMPROVED on “the dang truck”.

If they are stock size and rating, you use the door sticker. Any other size and rating can be adjusted properly using a calculator. You don't ever use the max inflation stamped on the tire. That will lead to improper wear and possible other problems.

    Once again:

    Maybe I misinterpreted this?

    The sidewall specifies max inflation

Have you tried swapping back the old coils? Since you did several things at one time, you would need to go back and undo them one by one to see which item caused the drop. Do you have a scangauge or ultragauge or one of the apps to watch the truck while it's running? It might indicate if there is a vacuum leak somewhere or a running rich condition. How many tanks of gas have you run through since the tune up?

Every Houston/Dallas trip RT is a 2 tanks of gas......@600 miles, so 2 RTs = 4 tanks of gas......no chance to undo anything, threw away old parts......
Does vacuum leak Produce engine codes....?

If one of the tune up items IS the culprit my money would be on the refurbished coils. Maybe they are weak leading to weaker spark so you get a less complete burn. Those are things I would have bought new OEM
