I honestly don't see how they can get that much MPG out of them as you basically have it floored evreywhere to keep up with traffic. We got mid 30s on the drive down here with cruise set 95% of the time at 70.

I'll have to go back and look but I asked for the best price and went from there. I told them we were 800+ credit score buyers and want out the door price and if you start talking monthly payments in walking immediately and that got them all in line.

Yes, I think its a 2019 SE. she loves it. I like driving it. 4 banger is plenty, v6 would be a beast. I love the ride, it feels sporty.

Yea maybe they upped the power for the newer ones. My wife wanted the biggest motor possible and we just test drove a 4cyl for the hell of it.

you have to get into it a bit to get "fun acceleration" (3-4K rpm) but it is more than adequate in my opinion. It's an appliance and it works. There are many more fun cars out there for sure.................. all depends on what will fit your need

seems to be all Toyota’s. They like to be higher in the rpm range, which doesn’t bother me that much.

2017 Camry SE owner here. 4 cylinder, 4 door.

it has enough power for me, it’s the daily driver. Definitely isn’t getting anywhere near 40 MPG though, it’s been in the 27-29 MPG since I purchased new.

@SearArtist One thing to remember the "savings" from 30 MPG to 40 is not that much. MPG is a terrible way to measure efficiently as it's not linear. We should measure in Gallon consumed per X miles.

ive had this commute long enough and have tracked my fuel consumption for enough years to know an average of how many gallons of fuel I use per week.

i have a rolling monthly budget and can get within a few dollars of actual versus planned.

edit - last month budget was $275 for my truck, came in at $273.18

the 18+ have a brand new 2.5L engine. Many reports that it gets better than EPA estimates on the highway.

I wish I had some good data to report, I dont drive our often enough, for long drives to report anything. I do watch the mpg minder when I do drive, it regularly is in the 30-40 range on highway. no long term evaluation though. wife drives short trips, heavy foot, so that skews everything........

What would your fuel cost be driving the same miles with the Camry?

    ~$108/mo based on 40mpg @ $2.10/gal, versus ~$270/mo currently w/16mpg average

83mi commute 5/day a week...annual is about 15% overage, which is how I calculate my monthly cost.

    upload_2020-12-21_13-29-34.jpg

obviously as cost of fuel goes up the savings is greater, as it goes down it is less. hopefully we move closer to work in the spring as well.
