I that was just installation. The shockes are about $150 a pair, if you can find them. I waited about 2 months for mine. Every place I checked was on backorder. Then once they were in stock most of them sold out within a few days. Its a relatively cheap way to give your truck a mild lift.

No new springs required. Just the 5100's.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
They reuse the stock springs. The lift is achieved by an adjustable lower spring perch on the bottom of the shock. The higher position you put the perch (plate the spring "sits" on), the more lift you get. They essentially preload the springs pushing down on the lower control arms making the truck sit higher. You do lose a little downtravel, but this is only a hindrance if going over bumps at high speed such as a desert environment. You will notice a little better on road handling as this setup eliminates some of the body roll when going around corners.

Yes they are good as long as your can get someone who knows what they are doing to align it correctly. I also do get some vibs between 35-50, but I'm really wondering if thats b/c of my tires. Overall I'm really happy with how it turned out.

i removed an re installed mine using some mostly basic tools and a little help from a friend. the hardest part is making enough room to get the strut assemblies off. i would highly recommend having a shop actually change the shocks out as a spring comprressor tool is needed and without the propper tools it can be quite dangerous. most tire shops should be able to do this for you for a nominal fee. i think i paid $20/shock at NTB...might have been a little more than that. dropped them off, went and ate lunch and they were ready when i got back.

this writeup is for a spacer lift, but the first part of it will explain how to remove the struts...

x2. last time I did struts, I got the spring compressor tool and everything but ended up taking them to car x and paid them $40 to switch them out on to new struts. much safer.

If they only charge 40-60 for both heck yeah Ill have them do it

yeah. The spring tool cost $40 alone and it was the cheapest one I could find. Had 2 separate compressors.. it sucked a lot. just returned it and took the $40 to a professional. lol

They really aren't that difficult to install. You have to take off the front sway bar, remove the stock springs, and break the ball joints open. You do have to use spring compressors but as long as you get them straight across from each other the stock springs are easy to get off.

Me and 2 buddies put my 3 inch Toytec on and those springs were stiff and took forever compress to fit in. It probably took us about 2 hours to remove and install the new fronts.

You can do it it just takes a little patience.

Well, I got ahold of the guy on Craigslist and scored the Billy's. I have the OME 885's and a 2"AAL out in the barn, all ready to go. Probably wont be able to get to it till after the holidays though :( The only thing I dont have yet is the shims for the rear leafs. Figure I'll put them in right from the start to avoid any vibes.
